Hi everyone! This is my first fanfic, so I hope you guys like it.
Stranger
It's the 20th day of December and people are all busy preparing for Christmas.
Different kind of snowman stood proudly in front of homes in the suburban. Cars lined up on garages and even on the street for, one thing for sure, those were the ones carried different colored boxes with ribbons and people that are eager to see their family —be it related by blood or not.
And there stood Elsa in front of an apartment complex, twisting the door knob as she remove her key from the keyhole to make sure it is lock. With both bare hands on her sides she walked away from the building and started heading south, gazing at families hugging at their front steps.
How lucky of them to have a family to spend the holidays with.
She continued walking, keeping her eyes down, away from the people to stop herself from breaking down and lose it in the middle of the streets. She kept on walking and walking until her body hit something, more like someone, sending her tumbling backwards.
"Sorry." They said in unison. She quickly looked up to see what she hit, hoping that she did not bump into a serial killer or something.
Her gaze fell into blue eyes, staring intently on her own ones.
They stood there looking at each other for a certain period as if seeing snowflakes for the first time. And calling it being in awe is an understatement of a lifetime.
Gorgeous! She looked almost like me with the hair, the eyes and everything. A girl version of me probably? Wow! Just wow.
Well he doesn't look like a serial killer nor a robber so that's a start. Or maybe that's just his façade.
"You're a stranger, right?" She said with a confused face, ending the monotone sound of silence between them.
Exactly five seconds after her strange question a deep and manly boisterous laughter filled the chilly air as the male laugh heartily at the weird statement.
"Wait, why are you laughing?" she asked with a face that says this guy is a psycho.
And with that the male laugh harder at the facial expression made by the female in front of him. She watched him laugh for a minute with pure confusion written on her face.
The male had wiped off the tear that escaped his eye as he composes himself, fixing his jacket and scarf in the process. "You done now?" she asked.
"Yes." He responded with a nod.
"Good. So why were you laughing in the first place?" Curiosity got the best of her for she had no idea what is so funny at her previous statement.
"Well you asked me if I'm a stranger rather than asking who I am instead," he replied like it is the most obvious thing in the world. "It would have been more in the norm if you said 'sorry for bumping into you' and be on your way. Not that I'm complaining though."
"Oh, well I was just making sure that you're not a criminal or something and might as well regard you as a stranger instead. It made me at ease knowing that I'm talking to a mere stranger rather than a bloody serial killer," she shared.
"I see. That's a rare way of thinking there. It's nice," he remarked.
"Thanks, I guess?" she said, slightly blushing from the compliment.
Cute. He thought, a tinge of pink made its way to his face. "Well maybe it would put you more into ease if I tell you my name is Jack Frost and I live at the second street and I'm not a criminal nor a stranger now 'cause you know my name and where I live."
A smirk formed at his lips as Elsa smiled back. That's pretty.
"I'm Elsa," she replied. And what a beautiful name, it suits the bearer.
"To make matters better and put you even more at ease, would you like to drink a cup or two of hot chocolate at the nearby café rather than talking in the middle of the streets in this cold weather with a not-so-stranger young lad?" he offered , returning her smile with his own.
She giggled at the way he had referred to himself and replied, "I would love to."
"So shall we, stranger?" he said with his hand outstretched.
She placed her cold hand on top of his palm and felt warmth as he squeezed hers close. "We shall, stranger." She replied receiving a warm smile from the male now walking beside her while making their way to a café, hand in hand.
A stranger indeed.
