I'm sorry for trashipping but i don't care either
The flame demon sighed as he leaned against a pole, staring off into the distance and whilst tapping his foot against the solid ground. It's been surprisingly dull around the Underworld as of lately. Ivlis had only mentioned something about an invasion, and Emalf kept a lookout until he got more insight on what exactly would be happening. But for the time being, he figured he could waste some time.
He thought about karaoke - yeah, that sounded fun - if only his old pal were still around. While he now understood his reasoning for leaving the Underworld, that didn't stop him from still missing him.
Out of the blue, a feminine voice rang through his ears and interrupted his thoughts, "Hey Emalf, you big dummy, stop dozing off and come watch the show with me." The girl tugged at his jacket and his head turned towards to look at the shorter figure.
"Huh, say what now...?" Emalf snapped out of his daydream, recalling the good days back when his buddy was around (and things were even slightly better than now). Sure, he could hang around with Poemi at times, but her interests were a little... too violent for his tastes.
"I saw some demons were making explosives, but they're flying high up in the air and exploding with bunch of colors instead." she explained.
"Oh, like... er, fireworks?" He guessed.
"I guess so." The smaller demon mused in response.
Without much further delay, she gestured for him to follow her. Shrugging to himself, he did so and as unexpected, he did see the other lower-ranking flame demons from afar messing about here and there.
One of them slipped and fell backwards, landing against one of the 'explosives' as put, then promptly shouted at the other to watch his step. Not noticing it had set off into the near pitch black sky, which alighted with strands of red lights that disappeared almost as soon as Emalf looked up, fluttering and fading as they spread apart, but they were quickly replaced by another golden flickers bursting to life where the reds had died.
"If Mr. Ivlis knew were doing this, they'd be toast for sure." said Emalf, looking amused.
"Probably, but it'd be pretty funny anyway." Poemi told him, her eyes momentarily shifting towards her friend, then back at the fireworks.
Another short whistle, and this time it was audible, and then a louder noise, then green and violet exploded above the flight of stairs, forming beautiful, flashy flowers that spread wide before also vanishing into the dark. Mouth parted in surprise, eyes just as wide, Emalf's gaze darted around, trying to focus on each flower of light before it vanished, hastily following the next shower, not sure where to look.
Some pirouetted in the sky for a while, leaving behind trails that fluttered down until they were gone.
Greens and violets were followed by reds and yellows, then blues and oranges, then gold and white.
The demons looked like they were enjoying their little set of stunts, which Emalf did as well, technically he was meant to confiscate and tell them off, but he decided to cut them some slack this time.
Some of the newer burst of lights were longer, wider in width, some lasted almost nothing, getting lost in the darkness around, their colors dying prematurely, not allowing the duo gazing them enough time to truly appreciate them.
The last firework seemed to explode loudly, the last flash before it ended. It appeared the short show was done with, as no more explosives would blast into the pitch sky.
"That was effin' cool!" exclaimed Emalf, after a moment of examination.
"Sure..."
The demons in afar packed their things together and made an escape for it, to likely stash them away or (unlikely) make a better use for them.
Poemi shifted her eyes again, and Emalf wondered for a brief moment what was up with her. He didn't think much of it at first and was about to ask about it, but didn't expect it when the pigtailed-demon stood tiptoeing close as she pressed her lips against the flame demon's cheek.
His eyes widened behind his shades in surprise and a blush cover his pale features. Quickly, she retreated and gazed at him for another moment, before disappearing from his sight just as fast, before he could question it.
He could only stand still in his spot for a minute with his thoughts clouded, until - "Emalf?"
A voice called from behind him. He jumped at the unexpected and turned around, seeing a familiar face.
"R-Rieta! Oh man, you effin' got me there for a sec..." The flame demon breathed, shoving his hands into his pockets at the slight embarrassment, in attempt to play it cool. By then, the male demon's face was more shades of red than a burning flame.
Rieta looked almost amused, enjoying his flushed expression."You two make quite the pair, huh..."
"What are ya- I mean, n-nothin' like that!"
