A/n: Okay, so this is the sequel to my previous fanfic, MDPD-Pink. You don't necessarily have to read that one (though it would help). Basically, Boxter now knows Guy is SheZow… enjoy, and please leave a review! :)

Droosha didn't have the faintest idea what was going on with her family. Over the past month, Boxter and Guy had been behaving weirder and weirder. Snapping at each other, launching into full-blown arguments at the dinner table, mostly about SheZow… I mean, sometimes they butted heads, but not like this. What by the Goddess was going on?

If she could pin down a date, it would've all started the night Coldfinger tried to freeze Megadale. The night she, Kelly, and Maz had been kidnapped by the super villain and held hostage. The night Coldfinger threw her into a vat of liquid nitrogen. And the night Boxter had rescued her.

Well, attempted to rescue. His presence hadn't made much difference in her escape. It had been SheZow who had stopped Coldfinger and saved Megadale. But it had been so damned cold, Boxter's cuddles had been more than welcome.

That date should have been something to solidify their relationship. And with SheZow no longer helping out the MDPD, Boxter mood should have improved.

But in recent months SheZow had continued to help the police, and would usually single out Boxter when she needed to liaise with them to take down any villains. Seemed she'd learned the cops could actually help her with a few things. That, in itself, didn't bother Droosha. She wasn't the kind of wife to get all paranoid because her husband was working with another woman all the time. Even when some of that work occurred well outside of work hours, and she'd woken to find Boxter's side of the bed empty. She knew it was cop stuff, even though it involved Boxter working with SheZow on the outskirts of MDPD's rules and usual mode of operation.

If that was all he'd been doing it would've been fine. It was almost amusing to see how nervous he got about skirting the rules. But not when he wouldn't speak with her about it, not when he couldn't explain his resulting moods, and not when he insisted on taking those moods out on the kids.

And then there was the inexplicable evolution of his dinner table SheZow rants…

"It's not that she's incapable of looking out for herself," Boxter growled. "I'm just saying she should let us cops know what's going on. I mean, she reckons she's happy to work with us on big things that come up, why can't she give us a bit of a heads up on what else is going on? It's a lot easier when she doesn't just disappear in the middle of a shoot-out."

Guy rolled his eyes. "Come on, Dad. She's not that bad. And she's got superpowers. It's not like she can get hurt."

Boxter glared at his son across the table, and stabbed a potato with a bit too much force. "She can get hurt, everyone can get hurt."

"It's sweet that you care about her though." The faintest hint of sarcasm tainted her son's words; Boxter glared at him.

And as a result of the increase and turn of Boxter's SheZow rants, Guy seemed to have to decided to defend the superheroine, more so than he'd ever done. He was making it more than clear he did not share his father's opinions of SheZow. Maybe he'd just grown sick of the rants.

"Guy…" Droosha warned.

"It's fine," Boxter growled. "She's never really gotten herself into any situations that were really dangerous, that's what I think, and she thinks because of that, she's invincible. If she did really get herself into trouble she might be a bit more careful. And cool off on the destruction of city property while she's at it…"

"Hey, SheZow has not been destroying as much stuff as she used to," said Guy, pointing a fork.

Droosha frowned. "Really? I hadn't noticed a difference…"

"Ow!" Guy jumped.

Droosha looked up, but was too slow to catch if Kelly had kicked her brother, or Guy was just doing something else silly.

"…Kelly showed me the figures…" he finished, glaring at his sister.

Boxter snorted and rolled his eyes. "Yeah, well, whatever they are, they're still too high."

"Nothing's ever good enough for you is it?" Guy's voice was low; Droosha only barely heard him.

"What was that?" said Boxter, eyes narrowing.

"Nothing…"

"It didn't sound like nothing."

"Alright!" Droosha snapped. She'd had enough for the night. "How about we talk about something other than SheZow?"

"Works for me," said Guy.

After that Boxter shut up and barely said anything more.

"So exactly what happened today?" Droosha asked, when they were alone in their bedroom.

Boxter was fiddling with the tie on his uniform, like it was even that difficult. Goddess, he was stressed out. "What do you mean?"

"At work, with SheZow. I know you're still not her biggest fan, and I know you rant about her… but you've been getting worse."

"Nothing important."

Droosha came over and put her hands on his shoulders. "Boxter, it is important. Like when you get all stressed and take it out on the kids."

Boxter paused in his fight with the tie, his forehead creasing. He almost looked a little hurt. "I wouldn't take anything out on the kids."

"Then what was that with Guy?"

He looked down. "…Nothing. We just disagree about SheZow, that's all."

Droosha sighed. "Okay. But…" She rubbed his shoulders, and felt him relax, if only a little. "There's got to be something that's happening with SheZow that's upsetting you. What is it? You know it'll be easier if you talk about it."

Boxter's attention was on the tie again, and Droosha actually thought he was thinking about spilling it. Instead, he managed to work the knot loose, and then looked at her with a faint smile that seemed a little forced. "It's just SheZow being SheZow. You know." He pulled away. "I'm going to have a shower." He disappeared into the bathroom, shutting the door behind him.

Droosha let out a sigh and ran a hand through her hair. She'd actually thought he'd talk to her that time. What the hell was wrong with him? She'd let it slide if he was only hurting himself, but with how short he'd been with the kids, particularly Guy, over the last few weeks, it wasn't something she wanted to drag on. If he kept it up, she wasn't sure she wouldn't blow up. She was really trying to do this the right way; maybe he would just crumble and talk to her. Maybe she just needed to give him a bit more time.

When Boxter finally came out of the shower and crawled into bed, Droosha pretended to be asleep. She wasn't sure if, when he gently put a hand on her shoulder to check on her and then rolled over with his back to her, that he didn't let out a faint sigh of relief.

Guy powered the Shehicle towards the disturbance Sheila had alerted him to. A break in at the science labs at Megadale University, or something like that. In all honesty, Guy didn't care what it was, as long as he got to beat up some villains. And preferably before his father got there and spoiled all his fun.

"I'm telling you, Maz, he's being a complete jerk about everything. He said I could be SheZow, but he's just being all overprotective and getting in the way, and asking me where I am all the time. It's so annoying!" Guy gripped the Shehicle's steering wheel far too tight, and scowled. "I mean, he never got to crime scenes in time before! Now it's like he's trying to beat some personal record and he drags all his cop friends with him. How is SheZow supposed to kick butt with him breathing down my neck?"

"Maybe he's worried about you, dude," Maz said with a sigh. He sat in the passenger seat, staring out the windshield with a frown on his face.

"Come on, what's eating you? You're not still mad because he tried to throw you in the back of his cop car?"

"No," Maz huffed. "And I'm pretty sure he wasn't going to arrest me, just scare me for running around at night with you."

Guy stared at his friend. "You're not seriously defending him?"

"I don't know," Maz rubbed a hand through his hair. "I just think he's worried about you. Wish my parents would worry about me running around trying to save the city."

"Your parents don't know you're running around saving the city. You're lucky, Maz."

Maz snorted and folded his arms. "Maybe."

"Come on, let's see what this is all about." Guy winced. Some super-quip that was. Thinking about his father was sucking the fun out of everything.

Guy brought the Shehicle screeching into the parking lot of Megadale University. The last time SheZow had been here Coldfinger had taken some of the students hostage and frozen almost half the building. Today, it wasn't ice, but snot that covered a good portion of the front entrance, as well as a large percentage of the young adults milling around sullenly outside. The students who'd managed to keep themselves clean were staying as far away from their snotty classmates as they could.

"That's disgusting…" Maz grimaced.

"It must be Tara. What do you think she wants?"

Maz shrugged. "Don't know, but I bet we can find out."

"Yeah, before Dad gets here." Guy looked around, but there was no sign of the cops on the campus, nor any sound of approaching sirens. So far, so good. "Let's do this."
