Author's Note: Hey there everyone. ;D This is my first story/poem. I hope you all like it. Please review, it would be much appreciated! :D
Disclaimer: I do not own Pirates of the Caribbean, or Captain Jack Sparrow, for that matter.
A tri-corn hat, warn and leathered,
Brown and immortal, strong yet weathered,
Though sometimes lost, it always returns,
Does it make the man? The court now adjourns.
A blood-red bandanna, iconic to be sure,
Trinkets dangling about, both practical and obscure,
Shimmering in the sun, a glinting piece of eight,
But does that make the man? Or does it just make him great?
A navy overcoat hanging dusty and smart
On a man that has stolen many a woman's heart,
A once-white linen shirt and belts draped a-plenty,
Though does it make the man? Our jury's nearing twenty.
A pistol secured tight, just in case plans run bad,
A sleek, silver sword, though in its sheath it is clad,
For this man prefers his words, a dangerous weapon, you see,
However, does it make the man? Or is what is inside the key?
A small group of friends, though enemies number more,
Getting him out of trouble, offering support,
One's an older man, the other a devious woman,
Does it all make the man? Our trial has just begun.
A ship so black and grand, it puts all other boats to shame,
You will find if you ask, everyone knows its name,
With a crew so loyal, and a reputation so fierce,
Does it make the man? Or immortalize him for years?
The trial has now ended, so quiet if you please,
We'll now share our thoughts on the man so put-at-ease,
So sit back in your chair, and read on, my dears,
We hope you'll be happy with what you are about to hear.
Though trying to convince he doesn't have a heart,
We see through that facade, we've known from the start,
That this man is a good one, underneath it all,
Does it make the man? We believe as he stands tall.
This man drops a smirk, a clever line or two,
Look if you may, but you'll find nothing more true
Than this real Captain Sparrow that everyone loves,
Does is make the man? Yes, yes it does.
