I bit what was left go my nail. My life was whirling past me in one fluid motion in sync with my body. I took down the elegant braid in my hair and let it fall down my back. I glanced to my left Gale sat next to me on a long velvet couch. The soft fabric reminded of the fur on the interior of my old boots. I winced around the room. All the furnature was fairly old and needed a sanding. All of it was of course, wood. I looked at Gale his eyes were a pale grey and were saddend. He stared into my eyes

"Katniss it is not your fault."

I wish that was to be true but it was'nt if i had just volenteered everything would be alright. A twelve year old girl would'nt be sentanced to death. My mother would'nt be so irrational everythig would be alright. I looked away from Gale i could'nt do this, but unfortunatly i had to. The door opend I turned my head to the right. The door squeeld like some one was killing it. A peacekeeper nodded his head and my mother came out. Her eyes were blochey her skin looked transparent and as thin as paper. Even her hair looked horrid. I got up out of my seat and walked into the room Prim was kept in.

Prim grimanced up at me. Tears driped past her cheeks and onto the floor. Her hair was curled neatly and down the center of her back, she had taken out her braid. I sat in a large leather chair next to Prim,
"So, anyone come to see you?" I asked

"So far just mom, and Madge."

I smilled and looked down to the ground and found a small pin, a Mocking Jay.

"Is this yours?"

"Madge gave it to me."

I knew my time was almost up so I wrapped prim up in my arms tears streaming down my face. My soul person to provide for was off, to her death.

The peacekeeper usherd me off into the common room, there I walked down the marble steps and made my way home. I stoped every now and then to collect wood and herbs for a nice meal for myself and my mom. But when I came home I relized that the last family member I had was gone...
