"I request a leave of absence my King,"
These words came rushing to T'Challa's ears like a hurricane slamming into a stone building. He could only think about yet another piece of his family being ripped away at it's stalk.
"By the Panther goddess!" Screamed Okoye. "I mean no disrespect my King, but you need to grow up and think about your people for once in your life! If you keep acting in this manner you will be remembered just as your father was. Not at all!"
T'Challa, caught off guard, had to make yet another tough call as King.
He was smooth in his response, "I can not allow the general of my army leave our boarders. Wasn't Eric enough of a wake up call for you? What if the Jabari tribe turns against us, what if … bears—"
"ENOUGH!" Says Okoye, enraged by his arrogance. Tapping her spear to the ground twice she walks calmly over to a nearby table. Shedding a single tear, with a gentle hand she placed hilt on to table followed by the rest. "Consider this my resignation."
Without any regrets, Okoye returned home so she could hold her baby girl.
