A/N:

Moro: I decided to post the partner fic to Tempest! How happy you all must be!

Mitsu: Thrilled to pieces, Hikari.

Disclaimer:

Mitsu: Hikari doesn't own Fullmetal Alchemist. Let's all just be grateful for that, kay?

Grateful indeed…

Furher Roy Mustang sat in his office, scribbling away on an important-looking document. He had hoped to finish all of his work before the predicted storm hit, but it seems Mother Nature wasn't on his side today. Neither was the military. Hawkeye had come into his office as he was getting ready to leave with another stack of papers and an apologetic look on her face. She knew that he had left Edward home today and she knew how much they both hated thunderstorms, but the new paperwork had to be filled out immediately.

BOOM! CRASH!

Roy winced and the ink from his pen spilled onto the paper. Sighing, he made a brief note on a piece of paper and threw the ruined document away. Glancing up at the pile and grabbing another, he was pleased to see that he was almost finished. He hated to leave Edward alone in the Fuhrer's mansion when there was a storm. During Ed's stay on the other side of The Gate, he experienced what war was like and now understood why Roy hated storms so much. The thunder sounded too much like exploding bombs, and the lighting sounded too much like gunshots.

BOOM!

Sighing, Roy threw away another ruined paper and made another note. He was writing down the names of the documents so he could get second copies to replace the spoilt ones.

CRASH!

The thunder and lightning now sounded farther apart. That should have meant that the storm was passing, but the rain only seemed to get harder and the thunder louder. Roy signed the last paper quickly, not even bothering to read it, and pulled on his black military issued trench coat. He picked up his briefcase and walked through the building to the exit where a car was waiting for him. Climbing into the backseat, Roy thanked the driver for waiting and asked for him to hurry. He leaned back into the seat and stared blankly out the window, thinking about Ed. All alone in that giant house.

BOOM! CRASH!

The car drove up the long driveway and pulled over and the curb. Roy got out, thanked the driver once more, and rushed inside. He set down his briefcase and shrugged off his jacket. Climbing up the stairs, he was careful to be quiet even though there was no way Ed would be sleeping with that storm outside. He walked to the end of the hallway and opened the giant mahogany door leading into the master bedroom. There, huddled under the sheets, was a small figure. Roy walked over to the large four-poster bed and climbed under the covers, wrapping his arms around his blond lover gently but protectively.

BOOM!

In the morning, neither Ed or Roy would say a word about the previous night, but that was equally understood.

A/N:

Moro: It has been raining literally ALL morning and afternoon! I was just minding my own business, getting hopped up on chocolate, and this idea was formed in my mind. Thunder is freakishly loud when you live in a swampy valley, by the way. But it's awesome because I have a huge window so I can see the apple orchard trees getting soaked by the rain and stuff. It's so awesome!

Mitsu: Only you would think that, Hikari…

Moro: REVIEW!
