This is my headcanon for Klaine V-Day. Because we know there had to be more. Takes place right after Love Shack. (Also, sorry if the format is weird, I wrote it on Tumblr first.)
After the song finished, people crowded around, complimenting the performance and, unfortunately, separating Kurt and Blaine. When Kurt finally escaped from the suffocating crowd, Blaine was still no where in sight.
Well, that's what I get for having a hobbit for a boyfriend.
Kurt sighed and took his seat next to Santana and Brittany, Blaine would come back eventually. Two more songs played out while Kurt sat alone at the table, picking apart a rose. (Santana and Brittany had gotten up to dance and sing.)
"Okay, you guys," Sugar announced at the microphone after the end of a third song, "Now we have a special surprise for one of my favorite people in the whole world! So be just listen and dance, because this one's special."
Santana and Brittany took their seats as the band and Sugar exited the stage.
"Hey you guys, it's me again."
Kurt's head jerked up at the sound of his boyfriend's voice and, when he saw Blaine, standing in front of a line of Warblers (no Sebastian, Kurt noted happily), in his old Dalton uniform, his heart started thudding.
"This song is really special to me, and I wanted to dedicate it to my gorgeous boyfriend. I've been kind of a rotten valentine this week, and I hope this makes up for a little of that."
Blaine grabbed the microphone of the stand as the Warblers in the background started the song.
Kurt's face lit up beyond measure as he recognized the song. It was even the same choreography. Blaine really was just a hopeless romantic.
"You think I'm pretty
Without any make-up on
You think I'm funny
When I tell the puch line wrong
I know you get me
So I'll let my walls come down, down"
Couples were slowly getting up to dance as the Warblers sang. Kurt just sat, staring, starry eyed at Blaine.
Just like the first time, he thought to himself.
"Before you met me
I was a wreck
But things were kinda heavy"
Blaine broke from the dancing group, making his way to Kurt, still singing.
"You brought me to life
Now every February
You'll be my valentine, valentine."
At this, he produced a single white rose, Kurt's favorite flower, from behind his back, presenting it to Kurt with a look that, he hoped, conveyed all the love he felt for that beautiful boy. Kurt accepted it quickly, practically snatching it from Blaine's hand, making the other boy grin, and mouthed I love you, to Blaine.
Blaine moved back into the formation of Warblers, now on the second verse.
"We drove to Cali
And got drunk on the beach
Got a motel and
Built a fort out of sheets
I finally found you
My missing puzzle piece
I'm complete."
The Warblers and Blaine went through the rest of the song, everyone but Kurt up and dancing now. When the song finished, everyone clapped and shouted, and Blaine set down the microphone and practically ran up to Kurt.
"Hi," Blaine said simply, grinning.
"Hello yourself," Kurt replied, twirling the rose through his fingers.
"Did you like it? Was it good? Did I-"
Kurt cut his rambling boyfriend off with a kiss.
"It was perfect. You are perfect," Kurt said after pulling back from the kiss, "I can't believe you got the Warblers to show up! Or that you changed into your old uniform!"
"Well, I know how much you missed the blazer," Blaine replied with mock-seriousness.
Kurt just kissed him again.
"Best Valentine's Day yet," Kurt whispered, lips just above Blaine's.
Ta-da! This is my first fic in a very long time. Please review or favorite. And happy Valentine's Day!
