"There's two of them?"
"Lemme see. I can't see!"
"Shh! Mum will hear you. Why are there two?"
"Oh, blimey! You're right. Maybe, Dad made a mistake and brought someone else's baby too?"
Two pairs of identical blue eyes studied the babies in the soft blanket.
"Why are their eyes closed? Is something wrong with them?"
"Shut up, Charlie! Mum'll hear you!"
One of the babies opened his eyes. He stared at the older boys discussing him. Then he smiled, an innocent, toothless smile. Instantly enchanted, the two children nearly toppled over each other to get closer to him. As soon, as they were close enough, the baby scrunched up his eyes and let out a high pitched wail.
"Bill! Charlie!"
The boys looked at each other guiltily and quickly ran off to hide. The baby kept wailing and his loud cries woke up his twin who studied him in silence. Feeling somebody's gaze on him, the crying child looked around, eyes still brimming with tears. When he spotted his counterpart watching him, he became silent. The two children stared at each other. Then the baby who had been curiously watching the crying one suddenly decided it was high time he too burst into wails.
Not to be left behind, the first on also started howling.
As both parents rushed in and cooed over them, neither of them knew what fate had in store for them.
A.N: This is just a one shot for now. I might decide to change it in the future, if I ever get the time.
