Hey there everyone! To those of you who are still with my Layten Kain story, I am delighted to say I only have five pages left! Anyway, a friend of mine is writing a book/movie, and asked me to publish it for her. Reviews are especially important for this as they are not just for satisfaction, but to know that her idea is good and we can move forward with it.
Disclaimer: Technically there is none, but it is my friends idea.
Once upon a time in a beautiful kingdom, a queen was sick and pregnant. She barely had enough life in her to breathe. One day the kind heard the most beautiful singing! A bluebird flew onto his balconey. He decided to bring it to the queen to cheer her up.
He raised a finger and motioned it to land. The bird sang to the queen, and miraculously, the queen healed! The queen had a beautiful, healthy, baby. They named her Elora. That is how this story begins.
The king was giving Elora horse rides around the garden. He started to slow down. "Come on dad, you can do better than that!" Elora said. "I'm sorry dear, I haven't done this since you were three, and I'm not as young as I used to be," said the king. "Sorry dad, lets rest," Elora said apologetically.
After that Elora went up to her balconey and looked at the sea. All of the sudden, everything went dark, as though all the happiness had gone from the world. A dark figure appeared. "Ssssay goodbye to your life!" the figure said. Then it disappeared.
"Dad! Oh my gosh!" Elora screamed. The king came running. "What's wrong? Is everything all right?" he asked. "No! This...thing...came and then a necklace appeared around my neck and I can't get it off!" Elora replied. "Necklace?" the king asked hesitantly.
"Yeah! Why?" Elora said. The king ignored her question. "Oh no! I knew this day would come..." the king muttered, almost to himself. "Wait, so you knew about this?!" Elora asked. "No, not like that! He threatened to kill you because I killed his daughter," the king said.
"Why?" Elora asked. "Because she had turned evil. I had no choice. Now there's no time! You have to go on a journey to find a dragon. Your mother will tell you the rest," the king said. "That necklace is like a timer. If you don't hurry, you'll die in four weeks!". Elora gasped. "Now go!" the king said.
"Yes father," Elora said. Elora went upstairs to her room. She got her only purple suitcase out and put it on her bed. She got her riding clothes, two dresses, the only pair of tennis shoes she had, two peasant disguises, two thermoses full of water, a picnic basket stocked with snacks, and one personal item: her family photo album. She put it all in as neatly as possible, and shut it tight, locking the two padlocks on the front.
Elora went back to the balconey, and was relieved to see her father was still there. Her mother was also there.
Sorry about the quick ending but I gotta go. I'll post more tommorow.
