Letty-chan19: I added a tinge of unrequited love here... Hope you liked it...
GoM x Akashi at first, but eventual KuroKaga, TakaMido, Aoki and MuraMuro. Please do not kill me if this is not up to your standards.
Warning: I won't follow the actual storyline.
Disclaimer: I do not own Kuroko no Basuke... *Insert sad face here*
Kuroko Tetsuya. Midorima Shintaro. Aomine Daiki. Kise Ryouta. Murasakibara Atsushi. Those five individuals were so alike, yet so different. Fighting for what they wanted, never giving in, unrelenting until the very end, and...
Akashi Seijuro.
From the moment those five first laid their eyes on him, their curiosity was piqued. How could this human being be so perfect? Was he even a human being? Such questions would more than often race through their minds. Before they knew it, they started paying him more and more attention, and mere and innocent curiosity evolved into something much bigger - Obesession.
"Akashi-kun. I really like you. Don't worry about any external party interfering. I will annihilate them."
"Akashi-cchi, will you be my boyfriend? Neither of us have to care about what other people's views on gays. After all, only we matter, right?"
"Aka-chin, I like you better than umaibo, I would choose you over it anytime... I wish I could eat you up, served like an umaibo..."
"Damn, Akashi, to hell with everyone else. I just needa hear one 'yes' from you, and I'll personally see to everyone else's ends."
"I... I may like you (nanodayo). Do - don't take that seriously, it was just a slip of tongue (nanodayo). It's not like I care about you or anyhing, but if it helps you, I will get rid of all that do not support homosexual relationships (nanodayo)..."
There was just one more similarity - what Akashi would reply them with each time,
"Everyone, I apologize, but I am unsure as to whether or not I am ready for a relationship yet. It would be most desirable if we can still remain as friends first."
And that was where the similarities ended and the differences start. As a matter of fact, the sheer number of differences between them overwhelmed the number of similarities. Each time Akashi rejected them, they would accept it and try harder the next time.
However, all things were bound to change. Towards the end of their second year, their love for Akashi took a possessive turn, and they changed. Literally changed. From simple and talented basketball players into egotistical and narcissistic brats.
"The only one who can beat me is me."
"In basketball, I never forget to return a favour."
"My shots never miss (nanodayo)."
"I hate practice, but I hate losing even more."
Kuroko was the only one who did not make any arrogant remarks, but he did have some crazy sides to him as well.
And the day soon came when Aomine was told that he was unblockable, unbeatable. Thinking that no one would be able to beat him, much less offer him a challenge, Aomine stalked off, with Kuroko and the coach trailing behind him.
Soon enough, everything started there.
"Hey, Akashi-cchi, about Aomine-cchi still playing in matches regardless whether he comes for practice or not... I know that Aomine-cchi is strong and all, but honestly, is this really okay?"
"I don't know what the head coach's true intentions are, but I share your sentiments."
"Hmm, about that... Hey, Aka-chin, I don't like losing, so I've been coming for practice till now, but if we win without that, I don't wanna have to do it either. If Mine-chin can do it, I was thinking, maybe I should stop practicing too."
"Don't say such ridiculous things. There is no way I could permit that."
Normally, Murasakibara would leave things at that. Although not proclaimed aloud, everyone knew that Akashi's orders were absolute. However, judging from what he had just heard the coach say, about participating in matches and winning, it was pretty easy to tell that his brain was in a mess then. Belief clash with belief, and what do we get? Confusion.
"But I really feel like I cannot lose now. You know, the reason why I have been following Aka-chin all this time is because I felt that no matter what, I could never win against Aka-chin. But recently, I've begun to feel like that isn't the case. I don't wanna listen to someone weaker than me." As a matter of fact, Murasakibara did not mean to say that. It was somethig we call a slip of tongue.
However, words, once spoken, can never, ever, be taken back.
"What did you say...?"
"I won't let this slide, Murasakibara The captain may not necessarily have to be the strongest player on the team, but it's a different matter entirely when you're speaking so openly against me. If you will only listen to force, then force I must use. Don't flatter yourself."
Picking a ball from the floor up, Akashi continued,
"A one-on-one. The first one to get five points wins. I shall discipline you."
"We'll see what haopens, Aka-chi~n."
"Are you serious?!"
"Murasakibara is completely overwheming him!"
0:4 read the score board. Akashi to Murasakibara, 0 to 4.
"I thought that you would be harder to beat. But I guess that's it? I'm a little - no, really disappointed. Yeah, I really think that I can't listen to someone this weak. Ah, well, whatever, once I get this in," Murasakibara gestured to the ball, "it's my win. As we promised, I'll be allowed to do anything I want from now on."
One down, four to go.
Akashi Seijuro, am I going to lose...? No, somehing like that, I can't let that happen! I must win, no matter who my opponent is, no matter what happens, because, otherwise...
Winning is everything in this world. Winners write history, and losers are wiped from it.
"I, who wins everything, am always right."
Those words certainly did come out of Akashi's mouth, with his voice... But it definitely was not him who said that.
Then, everyhing went black.
"You're getting ahead of yourself, Atsushi. Don't make me angry. I'll kill anyone who opposes me, even my own parents." (At this point, I frowned, because Akashi's mother is dead. So shouldn't it be 'parent'? Unless it was just an example to to show how far Akashi would go to protect his absoluteness.)
Before everyone knew it, the tides had changed. Akashi, no - the other Akashi - had blocked Murasakibara, blocked him again, scored, scored, scored, blocked, scored, and scored.
The final score was 5:4. Akashi to Murasakibara.
"Okay, I'll be leaving now. Good work, everyone. I'll just be a good boy and come to practice." sulked Murasakibara.
"About that, it's fine. Do want you want. Just keep winning all our matches."
"What are you saying, Akashi!? That is the complete opposite of what you - "
"Midorima and Kise, the same goes for you two. As long as you keep winning matches, I won't say anything. I realised it during that one-on-one. At our level, there is no point in working together. I would even say that is is more efficient to not work together."
When Kuroko returned with a gloomy face, he saw Akashi.
"You're late. Everyone else is already changing," said Akashi as he tossed Kuroko a towel, "You'll catch a cold."
The moment he saw Akashi, he knew that something was different about him, but Kuroko simply could not place his finger on exactly what it was.
Looking at Kuroko's disheartened expression, Akashi continued, "Your expression tells me that it didn't go well." Kuroko nodded.
"I see... It can't be helped. Give up on Aomine."
"Akashi...kun? No, who... Who are you?" The look on Kuroko's face depicted that of pure horror. That was not the Akashi-kun he knew, the Akashi-kun he loved, his Akashi-kun.
"I am Akashi Seijuro of course, Te... Tsu... Ya..."
It has been proven that when one is occupied, time passes relatively quicker to them. This is, of course, used in a figurative form of speech, and time certainly does not fly faster than usual. Therefore, in the blink of an eye, months had passed by, and it was time for the Winter Cup. Akashi, being the careful person he was, called a gathering for the Generation of Miracles, to ascertain the fact that all of them still remembered the oath that had been made.
In one year, we will see who rises up to the top.
And then, just for dramatic effect, Akashi waited in the shadows, observing his teammates, before appearing the last. Everything had been going well, until Kagami Taiga appeared.
Then, Akashi borrowed Midorima's lucky scissors and tried to stab him in the eye. Akashi did know, of course, that Kagami would dodge, and that the scissors would merely graze his cheek. He was, after all, absolute.
"In this world, winning is everything; winners are validated and losers are denied. Until now, I have never lost in anything, and I won't in the future. Since I always win, I'm always right. If you oppose me... I'll kill you, no matter who you are." (I liked this so much I committed this to memory!)
"Kagami-kun!" Kuroko had shouted. Seen the look in his eyes, and knew. Knew all the feelings Kuroko and Kagami had for each other, knew everyhing, knew that Kuroko was the seme, and that Kagami was the uke. After all, he was absolute.
Two down, three to go.
Then, Kise put a comforting arm around Kuroko to calm him down. Akashi could see the intense jealousy dancing in his eyes, just like the look Kise would give Aomine when he spent time with Momoi. A look thay went past admiration and respect.
A look of love and affection.
Four down, one to go.
There was no doubt that Kise and Aomine would be enjoying the contents of each others' pants soon.
It was soon time for the Rakuzan vs Shuutoku match. Midorima had played well, there was no doubt about
it, but the pass that was meant for him by Takao was intercepted by Akashi.
"I am absolute. I can see the entirety of the future. It is but a simple matter to change it." (I memorized this, too!)
And then, Takao had offered a hand to Midorima. Midorima took the hand, and Akashi, in all his absoluteness, knew.
Five down, zero to go.
The solitary emperor sat on his high throne, overseeing everything. He saw every little thing, from the way Midorima's eyelashes fluttered when Takao's face came too near, to how Kuroko and Kagami held hands. Emperors were meant to be isolated, to be alone, and they were hated, despised for their abilities. He had received a love confession from Mayuzumi, but had rejected his feelings.
Emperors were, after all, meant to stand alone, to come from a position of strength, and they were strong.
Love was but a hindrance. Love would hinder his decision. Love would get in his way. Love was redundant.
In a cruel world filled with harsh truths, love was not needed.
So, that's it. What did you think, everyone? Please comment! From this, I can tell that I'm not exactly an angst sort of writer...
Also, please take note that I did not exactly follow the plot from the original story...
