Based on the tumblr post of omgpadfoot that i just couldnt get out of my head. i basically accept this as canon..
After the war, Hermione finished her seventh year at Hogwarts.
Although she had gotten offers from dozens of different departments in the Ministry of Magic, Hermione stayed true to herself and sat through her N.E.W.T.s, earning herself seven Outstandings, before choosing to go into Magical Law.
Much to Hermione's dissapointment, her hopes of continuing the work for S.P.E.W. were crushed after a short while. In the end, she had managed to succeed in providing all house elves the right to be paid a minimum wage of 5 sickles a week, however her work for house elves was deeply unappreciated by not only the wizarding community, but also the elves themselves.
Discouraged, Hermione Granger decided to turn her attention to werewolves.
At the end of the Second Wizarding War the memory of two very different werewolves was fresh in the peoples minds.
On the one hand, everyone deeply remembered the terror of Greyback and his pack under Voldemorts regime.
On the other hand, the Order of the Phoenix, particularly Harry Potter himself had made sure that everyone knew the kind man that Remus Lupin had been, and his many sacrifices for the wizarding world.
It took time, and effort, many speeches with countless well researched facts, and persuasion of important people, but dedication and the memory of an emotionally and physically exhausted Remus Lupin kept Hermione strong.
When Hermione stormed into the Auror office on a seemingly regular day two years after the war, she was waving a piece of parchment clutched tightly in her hand.
Her eyes were filled with tears of joy when she slapped the parchment on top of Harry's desk. Lupin's Law it said.
The parchment stated that it was now officially illegal to discriminate based on lycanthropy when hiring. Furthermore, people afflicted with lycanthrophy were guarenteed assistance with reintegration into society by registering in the newly created department, which was in no way connected to the Department for the Regulation and Controll of Magical Creatures. Additionally, the Wolfsbane Potion should be made accessible for every one of them.
"Remus would be so proud." Harry whispered into her temple, when he engulfed her in a breathtaking hug.
And a few months later, when Harry passed the new department and saw Lavender Brown sitting on a desk and sorting through forms, a sigh of relief escaped him.
Finally, after months of reconstruction the change in the Ministry was becoming tangible, finally a visible change from the intolerant and corrupt Ministry that Harry had grown up with.
Hermione Granger had made sure that the anti-werewolf legislation drafted by Dolores Umbridge was replaced by Lupin's Law, named after a man whose life was made greatly difficult by those who scarcely considered him a human, and created to enable those in the same situation as he was a dignified life.
Lupin deserved so much more than he got and he is my fav
