I can still remember the day everything changed. I was half asleep in my bed as I could smell the fresh eggs from the chickens being cooked on the griddle. Excited I jumped out of bed, slipped on my work jeans and t-shirt and ran downstairs. All of my family was already seated around the table waiting for me. I popped a squat next to my sister Emily. We all spoke grace and then dove into the wonderful breakfast my mother prepared. After we cleared the table we made our way outside to do our shores and help out around the farm. Our farm was rather big and well run by my dad and my three brothers and two sisters. I was only 10 at the time and the youngest of the bunch. I could help but not as much hard labor that my older siblings were used to. I made my way over to the chicken coop to gather some more eggs to sell at the market later this morning. I was picking them out of the nest when the annoying neighbor boy came over. He kept teasing me about how my family didn't love me because I was different.

"You must be adopted because everyone in this town knows they avoid you like the plague!" he shouted at me.

I could feel the anger boiling at me all I did was put my hand up to stop him. In doing so I thought in my head he is such an ass. The next thing I knew there was a donkey in front of me. I just screamed and tried to sprint to my mom. As I turned, she was already behind me, with the most horrified look on her face.

I will never forget what happened next, I tried to hug her and said "Mommy" as I cried.

She pushed me off and gave me a look of disgust and said "I am not a mother of a monster".

The next thing I knew was I was on a plane to London to live with a relative whom I had never met. Ostracized from own family at 10, alone, thrown out into the unknown.
