Half-Blood Hogwarts
Chapter One: Percy
"Jackson's got the Snitch!" Miranda Gardiner, the Hufflepuff announcer, cried.
I'm Percy Jackson, a seventh-year student at Hogwarts. I'm in Gryffindor, the House of the bravest students. I'm Seeker of the Quidditch team. My girlfriend, Annabeth, is in Ravenclaw. She's the smartest person I know.
"Gryffindor beats Slytherin by 130 points!" Miranda shouted.
I flew back towards the rest of my team on my Firebolt. Thalia and Jason Grace were two of our Chasers, along with Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano. Reyna was the Captain of the team. The two Beaters' names were Chris Rodriguez and Clarisse La Rue. Leo Valdez was the Keeper.
"Great job, guys!" Reyna said, "We'll win the Cup this year!"
"Enough with the pep talk," Clarisse rolled her eyes.
"Let's throw a party!" I suggested.
"You guys go ahead," Jason said, "I'll catch up later."
"Don't you dare," Reyna said.
"What?" Jason said innocently.
"Don't go over there," Reyna said, "And don't even think about bothering Nico."
"What? I wasn't going to-" Jason protested.
"Everyone knows you were, Jason," Thalia said.
"I'm going on ahead," Clarisse said, "Coming, Chris?"
Chris nodded. The two Beaters flew off. They had been dating since fourth year.
Eventually, we arrived at the common room. Jason and Thalia had been arguing the whole time.
"I'm going to go see Annabeth," I said.
"I'll go with you," Leo said, "Calypso is in Ravenclaw too."
Leo had finally managed to get a girlfriend. He had started going out with Calypso at the end of sixth year. Leo and I walked down to the Great Hall together. Leo spotted Calypso, and ran after her. I didn't see Annabeth, so I went to the library to look for her there. She was alone at a table, surrounded by a pile of books.
"What are all these?" I asked, sitting down next to her.
"Oh, just a bit of light reading," Annabeth said without looking up from her book.
I turned over a thick book and read its cover. "A Brief Explanation of the Architecture of Hogwarts. How is this brief?"
"Only six hundred seventy-four pages," Annabeth said.
"Should I come back later?" I asked.
"No, stay," Annabeth finally put down her book, "Congratulations on winning the match."
"Thanks," I said.
We sat for a while and talked, until Madam Pince kicked us out of the library. I helped Annabeth take all her books up to the Ravenclaw common room, and then headed back to the Gryffindor common room. A party was in full swing there. Leo had gotten back already, and had set fire to some of the chairs. I pulled out my wand.
"Aguamenti!" I said, and a jet of water shot out of the tip of my wand, dousing the fire.
Leo walked over, elbowing me in the side, "Look over there."
I looked in the direction he was pointing. Jason was in a corner of the common room, kissing Reyna.
"So they're finally going to start dating," I said, "How long did it take?"
"Three years," Leo said.
"I'd hate to be him, though," I said, "What's he going to say to Piper?"
Piper McLean was a Hufflepuff who Jason had used to date. Piper still endlessly pursued him, asking him out almost every day.
The party went on well past midnight. I went up to my dormitory when the last of the blue cupcakes were eaten. I fell asleep within seconds.
