t was a calm night and the crew was sleeping. It was two nights since the second Darius incident. Everyone did not have a reason to stay awake. Everyone, except David, who was up on the balcony, staring at the stars above the Florida Everglades and the Tortuga HQ. He opened up a window and went close to the edge. Some electricity formed around his wrists as his eyes glowed gray. The electricity elongated, grew into claw-like appendages, and grabbed two of the windows beside him. He jumped, with the electricity acting like bungie cords. Once on a mudbank, the electricity dissipated and he walked off into the night.

But he didn't go unnoticed. Clarissa was watching him leave the Tortuga into the Everglades outside. She transformed into a wolf, jumped out of the Tortuga, landed on the mudbank, and followed him.

Back with David, he reached the shallow waters the divide the atlantic ocean and the Florida Everglades. He stops. The water he now stands in may be cold, but David endured worst environments.

Suddenly, a sound moving feet in water, but it's not his feet. His head turned and looked, only to see Clarissa, in human form, walking towards him.

"Ya feeling okay?" she asked.

"Well..." he blushed and his eyes looked down. With an understanding face, Clarissa walked closer to David until she was like a few centimeters away from him.

"I have to say, you did fought well, back in the city," she admitted.

"Hmm... do you ever get the feeling that you start a relationship with someone you like so much, yet you want to keep it a secret and the only guy who knows about it is the one you like, who swears to keep it a secret as well?"

"Maybe."

"Well… it's just that..." Clarissa turns David towards her, putting her hands behind his lower jaw and ears.

"Of course I love you... David..."

Slowly, but firmly, with closed eyes, they pressed each other with their own lips. David took the opportunity to wrap his arms around her middle back. After a minute, their eyes opened back up slowly, which gives the glistening effect.

"Well, that was..." David started.

"I know, right? But maybe we should go back before the others notice our disappearance."

"Good idea." They started walking back to the HQ. But David stops once they reach the shoreline. "You go ahead. I'll cover up the tracks."

"I like the sound of that." As she walked off to the HQ, David grabs moss hanging from a low hanging branch of a tree and sweeps it on the mud where the footprints are. By the time he catches up with Clarissa, she was just outside the Tortuga. "One question-"

"Don't tell me. Muddy 'n wet shoes and feet. Well, I have an idea to take care of that. Here, get on the shell, I'll show you what I mean there." She did what he said. David threw away the muddy piece of moss and grabbed fresh moss from the tree above him. He jumps up to Clarissa and started rubbing away the mud on her feet.

"Oh, I get it. A natural washcloth."

"That's the idea," he answered as he finished up her feet and started on his own shoes. "I'll work on my pant leggings later. How 'bout you go 'n catch some Zs, honey?"

"Of course, dear."

She goes off to her sleeping hammock as where David went to another part of the Tortuga, where he took of his pants, lowered an ironing board, turned on an ironer, and rubbed the ironer on the pants leggings, drying the everglade water out of them completely. When he was done, he turned off the ironer, puts his pants back on, raised the ironing board, and sneaked off to the main room of the Tortuga, where he got back into his hammock.

"Tomorrow's a new day," he whispered to himself before falling asleep.
