The eyes are not the windows of the soul, they are the doors. Beware what may enter them.- Matt Smith As 11 Doctor Who.

Once in the orphanage there was a saying,

"The eyes are the windows to the soul."

They would say that the day of adoptions.

To gain the sympathy of the simple Muggles that disgusted him even then.

The eyes can give so much away about a person.

Our hopes

Our fears

Our fight

Our ends

The things that eyes can see

And the things that go unseen.

He enjoyed the look that he put into their eyes

The way that he could invoke

Fear

Despair

A loss

Failure

He saw an obsession with their eyes,

The last little light that found its way to the surface

As he ended the pain of their insignificant existence.

He himself felt no sense of remorse.

(disgusting word)

No, Lord Voldemort did not believe that the eyes are windows to the soul,

They are the doors.

Beware what may enter them

This was written for Hogwarts Online II Prompt of the day, which is the quote at the top.

This is also my first freeverse...What do you think? Did I screw it up horribly? I really want to know.
