Hundreds of years ago, a war between the orc tribes and the dwarf kingdom was ended in an unusual manner. An ancient temple was discovered, revealing the rules for a ritual known as 'football' in a land called 'Amorica'. After some heavy deciphering by an ancient seer, the first game of Nuffle Amorical Football was held. There was no proper pitch, no lines and very few rules. But both sides agreed they had enjoyed the carnage, abruptly ending the war, and starting the first and only sport of the Auld world, the Blood Bowl. Blood Bowl is now played on a proper pitch with several rules, and is played among all races in the world, including the agile elves, the tough dwarfs, the fast skaven, the average humans and several others. Blood Bowl has gone through several events, including the rise of the Khemri, the collapse of the NAF and dozens of tournaments and teams popping up everywhere.
The Scorpion Guild is a group of ex-adventurers who grew extremely rich in their golden days of crawling dungeons and saving towns. Nowadays, they buy Blood Bowl teams from other coaches. The Scorps provide the teams with advanced training and star-player treatment. In return, the Scorpion Guild owns the team and gains most of the profit from games the team plays in. They have bought over 20 teams, each of them coached by a member of the Scorpion Guild. The most feared team of them all among the Scorp's ranks are the chaos team Uncle Death's Nephews, coached by the guild leader Grimm "Uncle Death" Raven. Whether or not Grimm is actually an uncle and/or the god of death is still up for debate. But needless to say, this team has devastated the ranks of almost every team in its wake. The Scorpion Guild has earned so much money from its teams, that they will be starting a new tournament this year, the Scorpion Cup. The grand prize of the cup being 100,000 gold pieces. Most people consider this to be just another excuse for the guild to flex its muscles, but the less intelligent coaches believe this is just what their team needs to gain some quick popularity. But with the tournament only a couple weeks away, only time will tell what will happen…
