The first time Kirsten Clarke kissed him, it was because of residual emotions. He was too shocked and confused to even kiss back. They just meet and now her lips were on Cameron's, full of emotions that were never meant for him. Even back then, Cameron knew Kirsten was completely different than anyone else he has ever met. She was fierce, independent, and emotionally vacant. She could never feel how everyone else could. She could never feel how he felt. All she could do was try and identify emotions by flash cards and silly cues. But that didn't stop him for falling hard.

The second time they kissed Kirsten was a wreck. She was so upset about finding her father. She was lost. She felt so worthless and stupid and God did Cameron want to scream until his throat was dry. He wanted to scream and tell her that she was anything but stupid and worthless. She was brilliant and beautiful and the best damn thing that has ever happen to him. Then she told him that being here, with him, felt like home. And the next thing he knew she was killing him and this time he didn't hold back. He pulled his whole entire heart and soul into that kiss. Every stolen glance. Every term of endearment. Every "I need to protect you". Every hug. Everything. Him. Dying. Her, saving the day, like a freaking superhero. Everything he wanted to say but never did. But then she left. Just like that. Leaving Cameron confused and shocked. But happy. And even more in love than before.

The third time they kissed wasn't because of residual emotion or because of her father. The third time Kirsten freaking Clarke kissed him was because she wanted to. As soon as her lips met his, Cameron felt everything that happen in the last week evaporate. Kirsten almost dying. Getting locked up. Nina breaking up with him. Because she was kissing him. Cameron knew it was stupid to hope that she loved him back, but it didn't matter if she did or didn't. Because this was enough. He kissed her with so much passion and held onto her like she was going to break. But she wasn't. She was a brilliant. She was strong. She was the superhero and he was merely her sidekick. She would save the world but he saved her. And to Cameron that was way more than enough.
