I smiled at the small boy in front of me. He was trying to put the star on the top of our Christmas tree. He had a look of determination as he stood on his tiptoes, his tongue sticking out of his mouth. I chuckled quietly at the humorous sight in front of me. His head snapped around. He scowled.
"Are you gonna stand there and laugh or help me with this goddamn star, asshole?" He asked. I laughed again. I had been with Frankie for a year and known his for at least three, but his brashness never ceased to amaze me.
I grabbed the golden star from his hands and gingerly placed it on top of the tree. I wrapped his small frame into a hug and kissed the top of his head. The smell of coffee, cigarettes, and Axe body spray filled my nose. I moaned into his hair. He broke away and placed a soft kiss on my lips.
"You're really lucky that you're cute." He said, smiling.
"No, I'm lucky because I have such an amazing boyfriend." I replied. I leaned in for another kiss, but he placed his hands and pushed me away.
"Flattery will get you nowhere, sugar." He said. I wrapped my arm around his waist and pulled him close. I put my lips to his ear.
"I think it will." I whispered. I heard Frank inhale sharply. He turned his head so that lips met in a short kiss. I broke away and planted a soft kiss on his nose.
"I have something very important to ask you." I said. A look of confusion spread over his face as I reached in my back pocket. I removed a small black box. Frank's eyes widened as I got down on one knee. I held out the open box to him.
"Frank Anthony Thomas Iero-Pricolo Junior," I started. I took a deep breath before continuing on. "Will you make me the happiest man on earth by being my husband?"
Tears were streaming down his face and his beautiful hazel eyes were shining. He nodded frantically. A huge grin was plastered across his face.
I stood up and took the ring out of the box. Frank stuck his left hand out as I slipped the ring onto his ring finger. The ring was a simple silver band with 'DL' (Demolition Lovers) engraved on one side and 'Forever' engraved on the other.
Frank engulfed me into a hug, his arms wrapping around my neck. I wrapped my arms around his waist and hugged him back.
"I love you so much, Gerard." He mumbled into my shoulder. I squeezed him tighter.
"I love you, too, Frank." I whispered. "I love you, too."
