Mutsohito was born to a successful family situated along the southern coast of the Land of Fire. The Arakida family became successful through nautical trading with a rather large fleet of ships to move cargo from one town to another, specifically with trade between the Land of Fire, Water and Whirlpool . His parents were arranged to marry to join the Arakida company with a rival. His mother, a delicate and fragile young woman whose blond hair was considered as bright as gold, would love her son unconditionally. Or she would have if she had not died during child-birth. The entire Arakida family mourned the passing of his mother, but few acknowledged Mutsohito's birth. Worse yet, it became clear early on that something was off about the child. The child would not react to the loud barking of the families dogs, nor would he awaken to shouting. The heads of the family had no doubt, the child had been born without the ability of hearing.
In his mother's place his older sister took him as her own. His father disgusted of the child because he both blamed Mutsohito for his mother's death and Mutsohito's disabilities made him an ill suitor to replace him as head of the Arakida family. His father's disgust and anger, and possible help from alcohol would often boil over to the point where he often attempted physical harm on Mutsohito. But his sister would often hide him away, often taking the brunt of the beating. However, one day Mutsohito's sister was not around. When she found him, his clothes were extremely battered and bloody. It took Mutsohito a week in order too walk out of bed. Fearing for Mutsohito's health and safety, his sister sent Mutsohito to the Taiyō Academy, located much farther north of the country.
Though it broke his sister's heart to send Mutsohito so far away from the family, she knew it was for the best to keep him away from their father. Taiyō Academy was a private school for the very wealthy, however with a catch. It was a private school for wealthy children that were not wanted by their parents. While the teachers were extremely friendly, and the atmosphere very inviting, it was never far from the children's minds that they were sent there to be hidden away.
Taiyō Academy was special for another reason as well. It was situated in a small village that was strategically located not far from the Village Hidden in the Leaves and as such, Shinobi coming and going from missions would trespass through the village to rest and gather supplies. Mutsohito would often walk through the village to gather even a glimpse of the iconic green flak vest famously used by leaf shinobi. One day, Mutsohito made a chance encounter with one particular Shinobi.
In an open field just outside of town, he found a Shinobi. Watching the Shinobi practice his Taijutsu was one of the most exciting times for Mutsohito at that point in his life. He attempted to mimic the Shinobi's movements which only resulted in him stumbling on his side with a loud thud. Of course this caught the attention of the Shinobi who gave Mutsohito a wide smile. Mutsohito's eyes lit up as the Shinobi gave what would seem to be a practiced speech he had held for some time to encourage the young to join the Shinobi way. When Mutsohito attempted to sign a message to the Shinobi, the man's smile quickly disappeared realizing the child's limitations would make it impossible for him to be a ninja. Mutsohito searched to discover what the emotion was in the man's eyes, but was quickly cut off by the man patting him on top of the head and before he knew it the Shinobi disappeared in a flash. Reinvigorated about a possible purpose in life, Mutsohito decides he will become a Shinobi.
At the age of seven, Mutsohito gathered up the supplies he needed, along with much-needed financial support transferred to him by his elder sister before setting out on his own to the Shinobi village. Making it, after over a week of travel nearly killed Mutsohito. He had to stay in the hospital for several weeks before he was able to approach the Shinobi academy for entry. His entry, of course, was swiftly denied based on physical limitations. The Shinobi guidelines dictates those without ability of sight, limbs, sound mind and hearing could not become ninjas. Enraged by their refusal, Mutsohito vowed before the teachers that he would come to the Academy every day until he was approved.
To his word, Mutsohito was in front of the Academy at the crack of dawn every morning before even the teachers arrived. When they did they would mostly ignore Mutsohito, though occasionally they would glance over to him, with those same eyes as the Shinobi gave so long ago. Those same eyes. But he didn't simple sit around, he began training. His mind flashed back to the time he meet the Shinobi in the field. He couldn't learn the ninja arts on his own, but he could improve his own body, refine his own techniques. As the Academy let out he wouldn't end his training. He would gather as much books as he could, and the occasional tutor who was paid for by his sister, even now he depends on other people for help. It was through this that he discovered the use of Chakra Sensory.
He delved into researching the ability to use Chakra Sensory to shore up his disability sure that gaining this ability would guarantee his way into the academy. Though the information he gathered would only go so far, not with how safely guarded ninja techniques are to begin with. He would have to learn the technique through extreme hard work, which would result in him ending in the hospital on many occasions. One such occasion happened when Mutsohito decided to blindfold himself and walk down a busy street. He swears he was starting to feel something until he suddenly went tumbling into a river below. Foolish Mutsohito, training as hard as he could, not remembering to learn how to swim. It wasn't until a passerby pulled him out that he was saved from sinking to the bottom. Saved again.
As such would many weeks and months go until something finally clicked in the right place, a gear that finally caught. It occurred just as Mutsohito was walking down another busy street with the blindfold on. Reaching out as hard as he could with the little amount of chakra he could conjure, he suddenly felt a tidal wave of emotions and feelings. Shocked and amazed at this new ability, he hardly noticed the cart as he collided with it.
Mutsohito bounded for the Academy with an application in his hands, certain he would be accepted this time. When the decision came that he was again denied, he was devastated. He didn't return to the academy for several weeks, missing the opening ceremony for new students. The day he did return he was confronted by three of these new students. Intent on making sure the outsider they heard so much about wouldn't plague their academy anymore. Mutsohito wasn't sure what fully occurred before he was pulled off one of the students by a teacher. Looking around he realized another had a broken arm, the other a broken leg.
He tried desperately to explain to the teacher the best he could that he didn't mean for it to happen. His hands flashing the hand signs but not seeming to get the intended result from the adult who either didn't understand or didn't care. The teachers discussed among themselves while still a firm grip on Mutsohito's arm but he only looked down out of shame. Seeming to come to a conclusion the teacher tugs on Mutsohito bringing him towards the academy.
This is it Mutsohito, you messed up now. They will probably ban you from the Academy grounds, maybe even kick you out of the village. He couldn't help the tears swelling in his eyes even as students returning to there classes looked at him. Those eyes again. When he was pulled into a classroom and sat down in the front row he doesn't know what to do except sit their in shock. It took him awhile to get over the shock before the tears flowed down his cheeks. The teacher continued his lessons and the students don't notice as he sits their sobbing, but no sound escapes his mouth.
The months blurred for Mutsohito as graduation came and went. His Genin team was surprisingly accepting considering the circumstances. He showed excellence in his abilities, quickly approving upon his capabilities and strengths. Mutsohito was feeling great, feeling the world was finally on his side. That is until the Chunin exams arrived.
Mutsohito was fifteen years old when he was recommended for the Chunin exams. Though he came with the intent of winning, victory eluded him. He felt greatly disappointed until he was brought before the exam board and informed he would be given the rank of Chunin. His excitement was cut short when he was presented with his working orders. "To be excluded from major mission work, assigned to minor duty because of physical limitations." The bold letters struck a knife through Mutsohito's heart. His hand came down hard on the stone table causing a crack to form on impact. His hands started moving through several hand language signs which caused several members of the boards form defensive postures thinking he was planning an attack however they were cut off by a translator.
"You give me the rank of Chunin and then insult me with these orders?" The translator struggled with Mutsohito's fast pace whose hands were moving at a blurring speed. "I have proven myself more then capable. How about I give an order myself….."
The translator stopped with a gasp when Mutsohito held out a single symbol that required no translation. As he turned to leave his hand full of the papers threw them into the hair scattering them all over the floor. As he marched towards the door he wouldn't know the board was mumbling to themselves except for one. Slamming the door behind him which clearly caused something to crack out of place as he slowly opened again. He had made another vow before them, to prove them wrong, and to wipe that look in their eyes off their face.
The World is a mess. In an attempt to gain military dominance over the other, Countries authorized the organization of Shinobi villages in which the young will be trained to become masters of Jutsu, the technique that focuses the power of Chakra which originates in ones own body. In most countries, these villages are granted with a semi-autonomous ability to operate without over-site of the host countries with a single in exchange for their support. Of the greatest Shinobi villages, five were granted the ability to name their heads "Kage". The Hokage of the Village Hidden in the Leaves located in the Land of Fire, The Kazekage of the Village Hidden by Sand located in the Land of Wind, The Mizukage of the Village Hidden by Mist located in the Land of Water, Raikage of the Village Hidden in the Clouds located in the Land of Lightning and the Tsuchikage of the Village hidden in the Stone located in the Land of Earth. These five great superpowers made up most of the fighting that ragged across the world.
While the original hope for these Shinobi villages was to end the long drawn deadlock of endless war, they actually escalated the conflicts.
The First Shinobi World War left the world heavily scarred but with no clear victor. When tensions again rose between the Lands, creatures such as the Tailed Beasts, mystical giant creatures that have been known to roam the world destroying much in their path, were turned into weapons of war through the use of sealing them into host bodies, creating what was known as Jinchurki. Once again, this did not stop the conflicts, but simple increased the destruction. Entire cities were seen to disappear from the map. Horrified by the level of death and destruction, the five great nations agreed to a shaky peace agreement.
Today, the five great nations are once again at each other's throats. Several of the Tailed Beasts that was being monitored have gone missing. Weapons and Jutsus developed during the major wars have fallen into rogue organizations hands. Smaller countries have pushed for the creation of their own Shinobi villages, even if they are created with ill intent and from criminal Shinobis. The Land of Fire and the Land of Lightning talk of all out conflict over the Land of Hot Water, a small patch of land that is strategically located between the two countries. While both denies the use of Shinobi to infiltrate the nation, which would be a direct violation of the Second Shinobi World War treaty, the Land of Hot Water had proposed the creation of their own Shinobi village, the Village Hidden in the Hot Water, to monitor treaty violations and to protect its own border.
This idea of course was meet very hostile from the Lightning and Fire, both threatening to invade in the event of an established Village. Land of the Hot Water, fearing the return of war to their lands that destroyed so much of their country, backed down. However, in the background, secret plans remained in place to continue with the villages establishment. If the village was declared already organized, then when it came to declare its existence, then there was no way Lightning or Fire could do nothing about it.
The Village Hidden in the Leafs, also known as Konohagakure, or simple Konoha, had yet to feel the effects of the increase in tensions in the region. After thirty years since the last Shinobi World War, the village had become use to the peaceful times. A Shinobi Team of three Chunin and a Jounin prepare for the days round of exercise by stretching.
The Jounin, a mid-aged male with blue hair was busy demonstrating stretches to a red headed boy and blond haired Chunin girl, both around the age of eighteen years who appeared only half interested in what their sensei was demonstrating. "Sato-Sensei, we know how to stretch. Why can't we just get on with the training?" The Red haired boy crossed his arms as he made the question.
"We are still waiting on somebody." Sato made a big smile as his finished stretching. Standing up straight he looked back at the red haired boy. "Besides Eren, you are going to really wish you did stretch, like me and Yuki." He flashed a big smile at the blond haired girl who only shrugged with boredom which caused Sato's smile to disappear. "You could give me a little more energy."
"We would have more energy if we were going on an actual mission rather then this pointless training Sensei. We are Chunin now, not Genin anymore." Eren snorted before turning around waving his hand to an object sitting a couple feet away. "Besides, we are all here, who are we waiting on?" Sato's smile grew large once again but he didn't answer him which only caused Eren to get annoyed.
Behind the group, the object stirred slightly only to wrest her head against her knees which were resting against her chest. Taking in a deep breath before letting out a loud sigh. Her long black hair obstructed most of her face, but her prominent blue eyes peaked out from between a couple strands. "This sucks." Her voice was soft but stern, though they were not directed at anybody in particular. She closed her eyes as she listened to the sound of the morning wind blow through the trees. For several minutes she felt her muscles relax, enjoying the silence, despite the fact several feet away her sensei and partner were still arguing back and forth, she had learned to drown them out. That was, until she caught a sound in the wind which caused her eyes to flutter open. Bells?
Her name is Hikari Uchiha.
