Hey there. This is just a short little burst of inspiration. I promise that I'm still working on Layten Kain. constructive criticism is appreciated. I apologize if it isn't very good, it's an idea that I've always had in my head and wished Harry would have done.

Ever since Snape had walked in on Harry looking at the memory, he had been avoiding Harry. Harry had written to Layten about it, and Layten had suggested that Harry have a little chat with Snape. Harry had requested a meeting at the Gryfinndor fireplace about it. Layten said the same thing and Harry had immediatly protested that Snape would merely laugh at Harry. Layten had said "Tell him that I told you to do it. He will know what you are doing then,". Harry still doubted it, but Layten was nearly always right. So right after potions class, Harry came up to Snape's desk. Snape didn't even look up. "Professor," Harry tried. Still no answer. Harry decided to just go on with the little chat wether or not Snape answered. "About that memory...Well, you see, I don't think it was nice of my father at all. To tell you the truth, I doubted my father had been good at all. Anyway, I... am not the way he...was. Not at all. Trust me, I do not fancy hanging Draco upsidedown by his ankles. By the way, Layten said to tell you that he told me to do this,". Harry finished up and waited to see what would happen, mentally vowing that if this got him into any humiliation or trouble he would kill Layten. Snape looked up. "You really aren't the way your father used to be," he murmered, "because he would never, ever, have aplogized to me,". Harry started to leave, but Snape held up a hand. "But Harry, you will never understand what it was like to lose Lily,". Harry looked at Snape, shocked. "I will never understand what it was like to lose my mum? I understood the day I looked into the Mirror of Erised. Did you ever think I might miss her more? You knew her, you can look back on your childhood and teenage years. I can only even hear her when I get close to dementors. I never knew her except for one year in my entire life. I have to miss what I could have had, not what I had. I hear about my parents, but have never seen more than images of them, or their voices the night they were murdered. You were lucky, Professor, for you knew her for almost her whole life. I can't see them until I die,". Once again, Harry finished off, though he figured he was going to get in trouble now. But instead, Snape's face almost softened. "I never thought of it that way Harry. You are right. I know that at least Lily was terrific. So do you. But you never got to actually know how terrific she was. Compared to you, I am very lucky indeed. Anyway, you have about three minutes to get to Divination Harry, so I suggest you run,". "Yes, of course sir," Harry said, already running out the door. After Harry had that chat with Snape, he was considerably nicer to Harry, and even started treating the Gryfinndor's better. (On Harry's request of course.)
Well, what do you think? Review please!
