Gone to Hogwarts
September first, 2010
"Torie is gone to Hogwarts," Dominique Weasley said to her best friend and cousin, Roxanne Weasley.
The nine-year-old nodded, "She's eleven! That's what happens when you're eleven."
"I don't want to go to preschool anymore, Roxy! I'm nine-years-old! I want to go to Hogwarts!" Dominique complained as she walked next to Roxanne. Everyone in the preschool was walking around the track as instructed by the Squib instructor, Madam Finn.
"I know, Domi," Roxanne said, trying to comfort her cousin, "But we have to wait until we're eleven. Torie is the second of us to go… Teddy left a few years ago... Remember?"
Dominique nodded, "Yes, I remember. James was so upset."
"He was used to having his big brother around," Roxanne shrugged, "He wasn't alive when Grandma Andy died, so he was used to always having Teddy there."
"Exactly," Dominique said quietly, hoping Roxanne wouldn't hear her.
"She'll come back you know," Roxanne finally figuring out why her best friend was so upset, "She'll always be your sister, and I'm sure she'll write."
"James said Teddy didn't write much," Dominique countered, looking at her cousin with frightened eyes.
"James is seven, since when do you believe a word he says? Plus, Teddy went two years ago when he was five! Do you really think he would have been able to read it?" Roxanne asked, "And I know for a fact that's a lie, Uncle Harry used to read Teddy's letters as a bedtime story for him, I remember he did when Torie, Louie, and I went to sleep over one night when mum and dad when out!"
"You really think she'll write?" Dominique asked, with a hopeful expression on her face.
"I'm positive, Domi, don't worry." Roxanne said giving the other girl a hug.
"Promise?" Dominique whispered into the other girls ear, hugging her tightly.
"I promise," Roxanne said with a smile, hugging the other girl back just as tight.
That night when Dominique got home and went to bed, there was a letter left on her pillow addressed to her with a Hogwarts stamp. Roxanne was right, she thought to herself with a smile as she curled up in her bed and started to read her sisters letter.
This was written for the friendship Boot Camp with the friendship; Roxanne and Dominique Weasley and the prompt; Promise.
