"N-no" the sloth whispered with tears in his eyes, trying to get rid of all the bad thoughts "They are just sleeping"

Sid crawled closer to the "sleeping" mammoth and his family, squeezed between each other.

"M-Manny?" he put his paw on the body of a furry elephant, gently shaking him. "J-just o-open your eyes, please"

Despite the sloth's desperate requests, Manny did not move, as blood ran from under his large body.

"Do not make fun of me. Just... Wake... Up..." Sid rubbed his watery eyes, feeling the truth reach him.

The sloth came closer to his friend's wife.

"Ellie.." he forcedly opened her left eye, and looked there. "You should be smarter than your husband"

Ellie's pupil did not even want to move.

"C'mon!" Sid begged, being close to tearing up. "Peaches needs you!"

The sloth looked at, what was hidden between the spouses.

Their teenage daughter...

She looked beautifully with her eyes closed.

"P-Peaches..." Sid whispered, stroking the young mammoth on the head. "At least you wake up!"

Peaches, like her parents, did not react to the sloth's pleas. She just laid motionless, squeezed between her parents' bodies.

Sid stepped back, with a terrified expression on his face.

"W-w-what if they are... NO!" he caught his head. "Do not even think about it, Sid!"

Sid, with a spark of hope, began to look around the underground jungle.

"Diego!" he shouted, in search of his best friend saber. "Where are you?"

The sloth moved slowly across the leafy surface, making sounds of brittle sticks, after getting in touch with his feet.

"HELP!" Sid shouted one more time, but the only thing he heard, were the sounds of flying pterodactyles.

"Dieg-AUGHHH!" he tried to shout again, but he felt something catching on.

The sloth fell down.

To his bad luck, he fell straight into a large army of nettles

Sid groaned, feeling how his body becomes more irritated in contact with these infernal plants.

He turned his head back, towards the source of the fall.

Just behind him, an orange form laid on the leaves, and the only thing that illuminated it was the sunshine.

Although the creature was not entirely visible, Sid recognized it immediately.

It was the saber.

"Oh my god..." the sloth ran closer to flick the leaves from his best friend. "Diego!"

However, Sid stepped back, when he discovered a terrifying detail.

Diego's half-open dead eyes just stared ahead.

Diego's pupils became faded.

In other words…

His whole life was drained out of him.

This was the decisive moment that forced the sloth to cry.

Terrible and at the same time honest crying.

"No... NO NO NO!" Sid shouted so loud that he could be heard everywhere. "NOOOOOOOO!"

The sloth caught his own eyes with both paws.

He tried not to think about it, but that was a fact.

His friends were not sleeping.

They were...

Were...

Were dead, while he could not do anything about it.

They kept telling him that he was weak

Sid gently lifted Diego's paw and looked at him.

"If only I would…" he nervously stuttered, just looking at his best friend in that state. "If only I would not take these three eggs"

Sid rubbed his teary eyes.

"That would not end like that!"

Unexpectedly, the sloth heard roars.

Not so typical. It sounded like someone was dying in pain and agony

"Momzilla?" the sloth whispered, until his eyes widened in shock. "My children!?"

Sid stood up, and with a speed of light, he ran through the underground jungle.

Even if it would sound terrible... He did not care anymore… At that time, he did not care what will happen to him.

He did not even remember how he had learned to dodge the branches that were moving towards his face.

He did not even pay attention to the wild dinosaurs he avoided.

He just had enough of this. He slowly felt, how he is disgusted about himself,

Sid knelt down to take a breathe.

The poor sloth found himself in a pathetic situation.

From the calculations he deduced, he was already very close to the sounds… specifically, he was next to them.

The sounds of torture came from behind the bushes he was standing next to.

"I'm coming Momzilla!"

When he passed through them, he saw a picture that he had not fully expected.

The small brown creature, in one word The British Weasel tried to overpower giant white Baryonyx using lianas.

The dinosaur roared in pain, each time, he felt suffocation in his neck.

Sid slowly stepped closer to this.

"B-Buck?" the sloth asked, seeing that fighting scene.

The sounds of roars were so quiet that the brown weasel could hear the sloth.

"Sid?" Buck asked, being surprised by the presence of his friend in this area. "Can you help me calm Rudy?"

With only his left paw free, he pointed to his knife lying just below the feet of a sloth. "He calms himself down, when he sees his lost tooth"

Sid reluctantly took the weapon into his right paw, slowly approaching Baryonyx with dismay.

Whenever he had to show a knife with the teeth for his rightful owner, the sloth discovered something terrifying.

Rudy's muzzle, more specifically, his teeth were covered with blood and fur... Mammoth's fur.

The sloth with the knife in his paws, stepped back, unconsciously attracting weasel's attention.

"What are you doing!?" he angirly asked, losing feeling in his paws, from squeezing lianas for a long time. "Do you want him to be released?"

Buck, however, was surprised when he saw the growing anger in the eyes of a sloth.

"Are you ok friend?" he asked, this time with a softer tone.

Sid did not even want, to take his eyes off the dinosaur.

"You… YOU!" were the only words, the sloth was able to say, just looking at Rudy.

The brown weasel felt embarrassed at the moment. "Who?"

The sloth did not answer to his friend.

And with his paws, he lifted the knife into the air, with the edge down towards Baryonyx.

"SID!?" Buck's eyes widened. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"

Sid looked at Buck. His eyes were filled with fire.

"He... HE!" the sloth angirly stuttered, pointing Rudy.

Buck raised his eyebrow.

"What are you talking about?" he asked. "What did Rudy do?"

Sid gritted his teeth in wrath. Tears WERE streaming down his cheeks.

"HE KILLED MY FRIENDS!" he shouted angirly. "MANNY! ELLIE! PEACHES! DIEGO!"

Buck's eyes widened in disbelief. "W-what?"

"ARE YOU DEAF!?" he asked unable to control crying.

The brown weasel gulped, seeing Sid lowering the knife, to Rudy's skull.

"N-no..." Buck whimpered. "I've been looking for him, for so long"

Sid looked at the brown weasel. His paws were shivering.

""YOUR "RUDY" KILLED ALL OF MY FRIENDS... MY FAMILY!" he murmured. "AND YOU'RE STILL WANT TO PROTECT HIM!?"

Sid lifted the blade a little higher.

"One for all, all for one!" Sid said, this time calmer.
"NO!" Buck screamed, but the sloth already stabbed the Baryonyx in the head.

The entire jungle was filled with Rudy's terrifying cry, which he died for good this time.

The sloth seeing Rudy being dead, fell to his knees with shock.

"I wish… I was different" Sid murmured, unable to come to terms with the thought that he had just killed the most horrible monster in the whole underground area.

After a moment, he saw around himself how everything becomes white.

"Eunice?" the tall sloth asked his wife. "Can you tell me where you found this egg?"

The female sloth sighed, and smiled to her husband, without taking her eyes off the spherical and crust-shaped form.

"It laid just outside the hole in the glacier… Elegantly arranged in the snow"

Milton caught his head, covering his both eyes in annoyed expression.

"Have you thought about how we should feed it after hatching?" he asked, with more annoyed tone. "Food is barely enough for our whole family"

Eunice looked at him.

"It seemed abandoned" she sighed. "I would not have the heart, leave that little one to freeze"
"We do not need another mouth to feed!" he shouted, causing a flinch from her side.
"There should be enough food for all of us!" she shouted at him back.

When two sloths were arguing, the eggshell cracked.

There were more cracks.

Crack.

Crack...

Crack!

A head began to protrude from the hole.

Not just any.

A beautiful small baryonyx, slowly he left, feeling distracted.

He already recognized, who were the two sloths, that were arguing.

M-mom? D-dad? Sid thought, and waved his dino claws everywhere. It's me Sid!

Sid noticed something disturbing.

His parents were A LOT OF larger, than he remembered.

Did he shrink, or would they rather grow up?

The small baryonyx tried to say something, but only let out of himself, a cute roar.

The sloths stopped arguing, and with a scared expression, looked what was next to them.

"E-Eunice?" Milton asked, cannot stop looking at the small dinosaur next to him.
"Y-yes M-Milton?" she answered back, without taking her eyes off the newborn baby.
"It does not look like a mammal…" he whispered.

Sid not knowing what is happening, came closer to his parents.

"DON'T TOUCH US YOU MONSTER!" the male sloth quickly grabbed the stick lying next to him, gently pushing the baby straight into the puddle.

Sid landed in a puddle, and looked around with a confused expression.

His heart stopped, when he looked right in the water.

Sid was not a sloth anymore.

There was a small dinosaur in this place, but the worst thing was that Sid was strikingly similar to ... to ... to Rudy.
