Hello guys! I've missed you all! I know I've been gone for a few years, but I hope that you didn't forget about me. I'll try and pop up here and there. This story was something that I had buried in my laptop for a few years but had never gotten to see the light. Well, today's the day! DISCLAIMER: I don't own HP.
Rainy Days
"Are you going to stand in the rain forever? You're going to get sick!" The young man with ginger hair yelled out from under a disgustingly yellow-colored umbrella.
"I don't care! Just leave me alone!" Her damp, black hair stuck to her face, and her clothes stuck to her body.
"Pansy! He's getting married in two days! You've got to get over him! If he'd loved you, he would've never left you at the aisle three months back! He left you there, waiting for him, looking like a fool. He didn't even have the courage to break it to you before the wedding! Is he worth all this?" His heart broke for her. She didn't deserve this. Not after what she had been through.
"Shut up! I knew! I knew about Ginny! I knew that he was cheating long before our wedding! I knew that he didn't feel the same anymore! I knew about it ever since I found the strand of hair in our bed!" she shouted. Then, in a whisper that he could barely hear, "I knew... I just didn't want to believe it. I didn't want to let him go." The rain mixed in with her tears. Ron couldn't no longer distinguish the difference between the two. "He was the best thing that had happened to me after the war." Pansy covered her face with her palms. "Everybody looked at me in disgust. Everybody! Except him."
"How could you even say that? Remember all the family brunches you've been to? All the weddings? All the outings. My mum cares for you. George cares for you. Hermione cares for you. Even Percy cares for you. And... I care for you. So, don't you dare insinuate that our actions towards you are even a little bit fake." Ron reached for her, but she stepped back.
"No. Please leave me alone. I've- I've got to go." Pansy started to turn around and run, but she was stopped by two, strong arms that crossed her chest. "What are you doing? Let me go! You're going to get sick too!"
"Then, let's get sick together." They stood there in the same position for who knows how long. The umbrella laid forgotten on the ground. In that abandoned street, all that could be heard were quiet sobs, two beating hearts, and the hard, pouring rain.
"Please, let me go," she said quietly. Ron's arms loosened around her but didn't fall back down by his side.
"I love you," Ron breathed out.
"I'm sorry." Pansy kept her back to him.
"I know."
"She's your sister."
"I know."
"And he's your best mate."
"I know that too."
"You shouldn't be out here with me."
"But I want to. I want to be where you are."
Pansy cried even harder. Her body shivered from the rain. Finally, she turned and faced him in his arms.
"Can you really love me without knowing if I were capable of loving you back?" Just like me towards him, thought Pansy.
"I would wait for you no matter how long it takes." He took her cold hands into his. "I'll wait." Silence ensues.
Pansy averted her eyes but stepped closer to his warmer body. "...Could you hold me?"
He pulled her in for a tight embrace and smiled into her clinging hair. "Gladly."
