Fishlegs hummed polietly to himself as he neatly spilled water on a small plant.

"There! All nice and happy! What do you think, Meatlug?" He asked his sleepy dragon, who was on her side, drooling as she nodded off. Her response was a small snort as she moved her legs gently. Fishlegs shrugged and turned around, pleased with his garden... until he bumped into someone.

"Oof!" He cried out, dropping his watering can in his attempt to grab the other person in order to keep them from falling.

"Oh! Sorry, Fishlegs! I didn't mean to bump into you like that!" Heather apologized, righting herself.

"Heather, that's okay! I'm just happy you're here. But, if I may ask, why are you here?" Fishlegs said politely.

"I was just taking a walk... and thinking," Heather said, kicking a pebble on the ground. Fishlegs smiled delightfully.

"Well, if you're feeling upset, why don't you talk to me about it?"

"What makes you think I'm upset?" Heather asked.

"You are really tense. I can tell, I mean, you literally just split a tree in half a few minutes ago," Fishlegs explained, placing his watering can down on the ground.

"Oh... you saw that," Heather said, face turning red in embarrassment.

"Actually, we all did," Fishlegs said, shrugging lazily. Heather's hand shot to her mouth.

"E-even Astrid?!" She exclaimed, her face turning rosy red.

"Well, no. Everyone except Snotlout and Astrid. Why?" Fishlegs said, curious, but still with a smile.

"I... um... no reason... I'm just..." Heather groaned. "I don't know how to give gifts... thank you gifts to be exact," She admitted, rubbing the back of her neck.

"Oh, thank you gifts? That's easy!" Fishlegs said as he turned around and starting digging up some fresh flowers. "Here! Just wrap these babies up in a bow and you've got yourself a perfect gift!" He said.

"Flowers? I don't think she would... oh, never mind, I have no ideas anyway," Heather said, taking the ribbon-wrapped flowers. The bow was a pretty pink and the flowers had the purest, whitest petals Heather had ever seen. They smelled of the earth, with a hint of sweetness. Does she even like flowers? Heather thought. "Thank you, Fishlegs."

"Is it okay if I ask who they're for?" Fishlegs asked.

Heather's eyes shifted. "Astrid." She murmured, turning away just enough so that she couldn't be seen blushing.

"Aww! That's so sweet! Well, I hope this helped!" Fishlegs said, delightfully. Heather nodded and smiled.

"Thank you, Fishlegs. I'd be at a loss if it weren't for you," She said, hopping into the back of Windshear, her dragon. The Razorwhip purred and flapped her wings, taking off towards Astrid's house.

She landed near the house and breathed deeply. "Windshear, why am I so nervous? I've never been nervous around her before," Heather said softly. Windshear cocked her head, in curiosity. Heather took a deep breath. "I'm venting to my dragon. I must be going insane," She muttered.

After working her nerve up, Heather began to walk towards her friend's hut. She knocked on the wooden door with a grin on her face. The door folded upward and Astrid was in the doorway.

She was beautiful. Her blue eyes were like two deep oceans covered in ice. Her hair was like the finest golden silk in all of the Archipelago. Heather's breath caught in her throat when she smiled.

"Heather... what a delight. Come in!" Astrid said. She only greeted Heather that way. Butterflies swarmed in the raven haired viking's stomach. She felt dizzy, like she were floating.

"Coming, Astrid," Heather said with a smile. She stepped inside the house.

"You brought me flowers, I see," Astrid said, taking the bundle from Heather's hands.

"I also brought your axe back too. Thank you for letting me borrow it," Heather said, putting Astrid's axe on the table. She blushed. "I sharpened it for you, too," She added.

"That was sweet of you. You didn't have to do that," Astrid giggled. Her laugh sent warmth flooding through Heather's body.

"Sure, I had to! You work so hard, so I thought I'd get you something to make your day better," Heather said, twirling her hair around her finger. Astrid cocked her eyebrow.

"Are you okay? You seem distracted," Astrid said. Heather shifted.

"I-I'm fine. It's just... there's been a lot on my mind lately," Heather said. It wasn't a lie because she had been thinking about Astrid a lot. She wasn't sure why, but Astrid was a pleasant thought.

"Oh... are you thinking about the dragon hunters?" Astrid asked.

"Yes. That and a few other things," Heather said, sitting down on Astrid's bed. Astrid grinned.

"Well, we could do a few things to take your mind off it. Want to go on patrol with me?" Astrid asked.

"Oh, um... yeah! Definitely!" Heather agreed. Astrid smiled at her.

"Alright, let's get to our dragons."
