I'm sure most of you reading this right now have read the story of Mia the cellist and Adam the rock singer in their complicated love story along with the wonderful author and narrator of their love story, Gayle Forman. We have read the story of when Mia was in an out of body experience and when she finally awoke to find her whole immediate family dead in 'if i stay'. We have also read about what became of Adam and Mia's love and their careers in 'where she went'. But we have not read about what happens in between these 2 parts of their lives and I find that it is my job to inform you what happens in the missing piece of their lives.

"Mia, Doctor Pietre is coming in to see you now." one of the nurses informed me as she held the door open for my assigned doctor. It has been nearly a month since I woke up from my coma to find my family dead. Of course my grandfather and grandmother still visit me on occasion but I can't help but feel lonely. Especially when Adam walked straight out of my life as soon as I woke up. I must have looked dreadful.

"Good morning Mia." Doctor Pietre said. He was probably in his mid 40's and his hair was gray all over. I glanced up at the clock, it was 11.30am.

"Good morning Doctor Pietre." I mumbled. I had fallen into depression when I found out my family was gone, all gone and I mean who wouldn't? When I found out, I all but wished I had given up on my life. Just walked straight into the sun.

"How are you feeling today? I have a surprise for you." Doctor Pietre smiled at me hopefully to see some sign of the human in me. The word surprise didn't make me feel the way it used to. When I got my first cello, that was a surprise, it filled me up with all he joy in the world but also that of sorrow when I found out my dad quit his job for me. When he asked me how I was feeling, I wanted to say I felt terrible as always, but being basic courtesy, I responded with, "I'm good, you?".

"i'm fine thank you." Doctor Pietre replied. He waved over to the nurse standing guard at the door to open it to let whoever was outside bring the surprise in. The nurse hesitantly opened the door and I can guess why she was nervous while doing so, the last time I got extremely restless and she opened the door, I made a beeline for the door and when she held it shut so I couldn't escape, I bit her hand and flew out of the room. As the door swung open, I was expecting to see the boring old roses sent by my friends to cheer me up but instead at the door, stood a man. Not just any man, but a cellist. Yo-Yo Ma. I sat up straight. Curious to see what he was going to say to me. I was obviously not going to play the cello because when I asked Doctor Pietre, he said my hands were still recovering from nerve damage and would probably never be able to play again. When he told me that I flew into a rage, they took away my family and now they're taking away my life? To quiet me down, they agreed to let me try and if I could they would let me play but if I couldn't, they wouldn't let me play. Sure enough when I tried playing, I couldn't make a sound without my bow shaking and without a fluent vibrato. Doctor Pietre couldn't help but look smug when that happened.

"Hello Mia. You grandparents have been nice enough to inform me of your state and have also convinced your doctor to allow you to play again. I am here to play with you." Yo-Yo Ma informed me. If this was before the incident, I would've loved it. But now when I can't play fluently? Not so much. Seeing as my grandparents did this for me though, I silently agreed as he handed me my cello. I got into position, and just played fluent or not, I just played.
