Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter
Prologue
A woman ran blindly down the alley, tears streaking down her cheeks. A long black cloak obscured her face and she clutched a ragged bundle to her chest.
The woman knew she didn't have much time; her husband would notice her disappearance soon and she had to dispose of the child before then. But how? No matter how evil the thing may be, she couldn't bring herself to kill it. But she couldn't bear the thought of keeping it.
She came to a halt at the end of the alley and tried to figure out her next move. She had no idea where she was or how to go about ridding herself of the evil in her arms.
Slowly, she sank to her knees and looked at the sleeping baby she so reluctantly held. It looked so innocent in sleep that she almost wanted to keep it. But she couldn't. No one could know that she was capable of producing such evil.
Glancing up, she noticed a church. She didn't hesitate in scrambling up and running inside. There was no one there except for a young woman, no older than twenty, who stood before and alter, praying. The young woman looked up in time to see the cloaked woman hurrying to her, thrusting a bundle at her.
"Please," the woman croaked, "take it".
