I'm Still Here

She sat next to him on the hard stone floor of the room of requirement. Hermione's curly brown hair fell down her back escaping the bun that had held it together so well all day. Draco's blond head lay in her lap. Her hands scrunched and unscrunched the thin blond strands of hair making them stick up on end. Tears fell from Draco's eyes and ran down his face. Before this year she would have never been able to imagine Draco Malfoy crying but it seemed all too common now. And if you had told her a year ago that she would be the one comforting Draco, holding him, and wiping away his tears she would have told you you were as crazy as Trelawney. But things change and so apparently do people, she thought, looking down at Draco's tear striped face.

"Draco, Draco" she said softly brushing her hand over his hair and wiping away the tears that had leaked from his eyes. He toke her hands placing a kiss on her palm, holding her hand tightly within his own. She leaned down placing a kiss on his forehead.

"It will be okay, Draco" she whispered into his hair.

"Sometimes I am not so sure" his voice cracked as he said this. She pulled him up so he was sitting next to her. She wrapped him in her arms seeing the sadness in his eyes. She kissed him, kissed his lips, his cheeks, his eyes, kissing away his tears holding his face between her hands. She looked into his eyes.

"I am still here and I will stay here and I will always love you." He looked up at her.

"You're right. You're still here. As long as you're still here." He whispered looking into her eyes and holding her face between his hands.
