Blaine's eyes darted around the backstage post-production chaos. It was their closing night and everyone was in a euphoric state of success. He was standing along the sidelines, watching as almost everyone had someone waiting for them with congratulatory hugs, proud smiles, and some brought a celebratory gift. Blaine couldn't help but wish he had that - what that was he wasn't really certain - someone proud of him, someone waiting for him, or maybe just someone.
He shook his head, he doesn't deserve som- anyone after what he had done to Kurt.
The mayhem before him was suddenly obscured, his vision assaulted with petals. Standing in front on him was a huge arrangement of flowers.
It seemed every flower in existence was right in front of him. From roses, stargazers, peonies, hydrangeas, tulips, daisies, lilies, orchids, sunflowers, to other's he couldn't quite name; all in varying colors. It should have been too much, over-the-top, but somehow- maybe the way it was artistically styled- to Blaine, it was breathtakingly lovely. One type of flower didn't overpower the others but rather complemented it. It seemed every single flower served a purpose, nothing was unnecessary.
"Marley?"
Marley's brunette head peaked out from the side of the floral arrangement she was holding. "Oh. Hey, Blaine."
"Nice flowers." Blaine gave a teasing smile, pointedly looking at Ryder who was talking to Brittany a few feet away.
Marley followed his gaze and looked back at him with wide eyes. "No- Yes- I don't really kno-" She took a deep breath, "I mean, no the flowers aren't from him. They aren't even mine."
Blaine tilted his head in question, smiling at Marley's nervous rambling.
"They're actually for you." Marley said as she extended the flowers to Blaine.
"For me?" Blaine's eyebrows furrowed.
"Yeap," she answered with her own teasing smile.
Who would send him flowers? Cooper hadn't even been in town, so that eliminated him. His parents probably weren't even aware that he was in the school play, so it couldn't have been them. Kur- he stopped. There wasn't anyone who would send him flowers, at least not this kind. He wasn't even the play's lead and besides, he only had one scene.
"Blaine?"
"Hmmm?"
"It's really heavy."
"Oh, right. Sorry." Blaine mumbled as he took the flowers from Marley.
"Oooohhh. Damn boy, someone enjoyed Teen Angel's performance." Unique said as she approached the two of them. "Come on girl, Sugar texted." Linking her arms with Marley's.
"Bye, Blaine." Marley said as Unique dragged her off, "You were really great up there."
"Thanks. So were you." Blaine smiled back as he struggled to balance the flowers in his hand.
"Nice flowers!" She called back.
Blaine watched them disappear among the sea of people before he turned to the bouquet (understatement of the year) he was holding. He brought it closer to his face and inhaled the wild array of scents. It was overwhelming but in a good way. An unconscious smile found its way on to his face, as he admired how extraordinarily beautiful it was. He was raising it up to smell it again when he noticed the small card attached to the hydrangeas.
I didn't know what your favorite is. Hope it's at least one of this. Why weren't you Danny? TA saves the show every night. Congrats, Killer!
He watched WSS and ND's Sectionals. Of course, he would watch Grease. ;)
