The Walk

The sound of rain falling echoes in Hinatas ears as she walks, a rather pleasant sound than the loud ones from town. Things weren't looking too well at this point in her life. Her father gambling her away to an equally large business corp, some Uchiha-sama. That pleased her father as he wanted to strip her off the title as heiress and now he finally can, with Hanabi receiving it.

Neji-niisan got married to a close friend of theirs, Tenten-chan, and moved from the Hyuga estate in to an average apartment a few blocks away. She envied him for standing up for what he believes in and is finally free from the councils and their twisted way of taking control.

She had let her feet be on autopilot as she had let mind wander, that she did not realize that she's now standing in front of a gravestone. Lilacs and roses lays on the ground in front of it. The dark-haired girl traces the name carved in to the stone, a smile gracing over her lips.

Hyuga Hikari

Her mother was a kind and gentle woman, yet strong.

Hinata lets out a sigh and waves. "I'm sorry okaa-san that I can't stay longer, otou-san would be furious if I came back later than needed. Ja ne."

With that she resumes her walk.

At every sight of puddles, she stops just to jump in them, she always loved to do that when she was a child but some days ago her father wouldn't let her as he deemed it to be immature and an improper way an heiress of a large business to act on.

She didn't have much of a childhood left after her mother died but she still has memories of the finer times imprinted in her mind no matter how hard father would try to erase them.

Her hair is drenched by the rain and the smile that was once playing on her lips melts to a thin line. Tensing, the hyuga keeps her guard up and quickly scans the area in a subtle way. Something or someone was watching her. A shiver runs down her spine and goosebumps cover her delicate skin.

Continuing with her walk that seems to take far too long even with her slightly quick-paced steps, she sees that no one is nearby. Where were all the people when something like this usually happens?

A frown appears on her pale forehead as wind tousles her hair all over her face. She feels someone grab her shoulder and on pure instinct, the heels of her feet rolls and she slams a palm on the unknowns chest which sends the person flying backwards. Hinata slowly walks closer to the person and upon closer inspection she realizes who it is.

"J-Jiraiya-san…?"

"The one and only" He replies while sitting up with a grunt and grins with his thumbs up, long spiky white hair disheveled from the fall.

Hinata stares at him in disbelief, thoughts swarming in her head, Naruto-kuns pervert of a godfather was following her doing kami-knows-what.

As if knowing what she is thinking he answered simply, " I was doing some research.."

She attempts to glare at him- which makes her seem more like an angry bunny and he dismiss it with an amused chuckle. Curse her shy and gentle personality. Why can't she be more like Ino-san or Sakura-san with their brisk and outgoing nature and beauty.

A small giggle escapes her mouth and her hand flies up to her lips as she tries to cover her laugh- that she fails at. Here she is, comparing herself to two of her friends that wants her to stop doubting herself and helps her become more confident. 'Kind of foolish of me'.

Hinata bids a quick farewell to Jiraiya-san and scurries home, not caring if otou-san would scold her pretty bad for coming home late.
