Chapter 1

"Hurry up Rose!" Albus shouted, his voice cracking with excitement, "we're going to miss the train!" "I'm coming Albus." I mumbled as I shuffled my feet toward him, doing my best to avoid the muggles frequent stairs as I passed. "Rose, if you take any longer I'm going to leave you behind." Albus said, a sliver of impatience starting to show in his voice. God, Albus could be such an idiot some times. Can't he see that I'm having the worst day of my life? Of course he couldn't, he was the "Unstoppable Albus," ready to make his presence known at Hogwarts, while I was just pathetic Rose Weasley, the smart one, an outcast everywhere but the classroom. My only hope was to stay out of everyone's way, to blend with the shadows. Maybe then I wouldn't get defiled and walked on, I would just be as background character, nonexistent in the social world, a reflection.

"ROSE!" Albus yelled, quickly pulling me from my thoughts, "LETS GO ALREADY!" "Fine." I mumbled as I watched Albus disappear through the wall, knowing I would be next. I walked ahead, fully expecting to hit a solid brick wall, but instead I emerged at an entirely different platform! I knew that this was platform 9 ¾ , where my year at Hogwarts would start. Despite the amazing magic of the platform, I was still depressed about how my year was going to go. That was when I saw him.

He was perfect, an angel among humans. His blond hair, slick and shining, fell on his shoulders in such a delicate way. It was almost like he was from a different world. Then, he looked at me.

My legs turned to jelly. I looked away, blushing furiously, ashamed at my feelings. As ashamed as I was however, I could not help but think that this year was going to be a lot better than expected.
