Jaune was staring out the window as Mistral… her home... turned into ocean, and if it weren't for the thoughts within his mind he'd be ecstatic that his motion sickness wasn't going nuts on him. The battle at Haven… he stared hard at his gauntleted hand, shaking hard as his cerulean orbs turned to Crocea Mors, sheathed and on his hip as always.

He took a deep breath and tried to just process what had happened to him up to this point from running away from home to start at Beacon, only to wince at the memory of crimson hair, emerald eyes, and a loving smile, finding his hands clenching and his jaw grit as the still fresh pain of her demise echoed in his heart and soul.

Cinder Fall, the woman that had taken her from him in her lust for power and destruction… if she had recovered even a second later in the fight at Haven, she'd have had Crocea Mors through her skull, and Jaune would have blood on his hands.

Hardly the White Knight that he had so intensely desired to be, he mused with a drawn out sigh, fully aware that he would have gone through with it, he would have killed Cinder.

The Arc scion looked down at his hand once more and opened it to stare at his palm, focusing for a moment and causing a pulse of his white Aura.

"And where were YOU at Beacon?" He whispered, feeling spite and hatred for his own Semblance, which had been incredibly late to arrive.

Don't get Jaune wrong, he was grateful that it had awakened when it did and that he was able to save Weiss' life… but did it have to wait until AFTER Pyrrha died?!

The Paladin struggled and failed to keep his tears contained, now rolling down his face as he forced himself to remain silent and not draw any attention to himself, with team RWBY and Nora and Ren so close by he didn't want to make a scene.

He was FINE, he didn't need help… he had Pyrrha's video log to help him train, he had Ruby and the others to protect as best he could, he finally had his Semblance, he…

He was fine.

He was weak, but he was fine.

He wasn't the Hero, but he was fine.

Cinder was missing, but he was fine.

Pyrrha was dead, but he was fine.

He had failed to avenge her, or even die trying, but he was fine.

Lionheart had betrayed them to Salem, but he was fine.

Salem was an ungodly amalgamation of human and Grimm, but he was fine.

Ozpin was no doubt manipulating them, but he was fine.

RWBY was back together and he was fine.

Ren and Nora were closer than ever and he was fine.

He was alone…

But he was fine, he had to be.
