Hey reader, I've been suffering from writers block and this is the first thing I've been able to write in a long time. It's not the greatest, but because I do like this I posted it. I hope you enjoy it.
He walked with the wisdom of war.
If I hadn't known someone who walked like that I would have never known. You could see it in the tautness of his back; the way his eyes captured everything all at once. It's in the way he took each step as if he was ready to run at a moment's notice. I could see it in the way he reacted to noises, especially the loud ones. Even in the way he presented himself, you could see it if you knew what you were looking for, that he has seen war. That inside he was still fighting. He told jokes, made others laugh, Leo kept up an air of carelessness, but I could see it was just a way to hide the pain. You could see it in his eyes that he lost everything to war. My grandpa had the very same look, the same walk. I could tell he died long before he returned home from the battlefield. I don't know anything about him, all I know is that I see something in Leo Valdez that no one else does.
I see a veteran of war.
Well, please feel free to tell me what you think, thanks a lot for reading.
