The Forgotten

A/N: This was actually going to be a story but i like it better as a oneshot. It might still be a story, i don't know yet.

Konzen's mouth was moving, he was telling her something but she didn't really understand why she couldn't hear him. Something was in her ears, beating like a drum. Then she swallowed to coat her dry throat. Right, it was her heart thumping in her ears and the blood pumping hard through her veins.

"Nai come on!"

The haze seemed to be lifted when someone grabbed her to help her move faster. Once they were safe around the corner she slumped to the floor. How had she gotten tangled in this again? A simple goddess with no special power, no real reason to want freedom other than to escape the humdrum of everyday life in heaven.

"Nai-chan are you ok?"

She looked at the child before her with a careful gaze before she nodded. This kid was the one…the one who had gotten her mixed up with these fools.

"Hey lady, what are you doing?"

It wasn't everyday that an extremely cute child stopped and asked you what you were doing, she was so transfixed by the boy's big gold eyes that hadn't said a thing at first.

"Hey, I said what are you doing?"

She blinked her hazel eyes, "Gathering water."

"Why?"

This was a very curious child, "To make perfume." Nai looked around the length of the large, clear, pool, "Are you with someone?"

"Goku! My name is Goku!" he said happily, skipping the question.

"Well Goku, maybe we should find your parents."

"You stupid monkey! What did I tell you about wandering off?"

And that had been how she met Konzen too. It wasn't long before she met them all and she was somewhat included, but she couldn't help feeling that she was constantly being overlooked.

She was the woman that fraternized with the great traitors. She was the one mentioned as an afterthought.

Tenpou grabbed her hand and pulled her off the ground as they started to run again.

Nai was actually shocked that she didn't question why she let this happen to her. Running from the royal army and chasing a dream that would probably end her. She knew she would follow these four to the end of the earth and back, as cliché as it sounded.

She would continue to stay by their side even as she was killed in pursuit of what they all wanted and reborn to be with them again. She would try her best to bear once again being over looked. The great Sanzo party didn't exactly include the woman who was constantly in the background.

"It's the Sanzo party!"

Gojyo sighed as he leaned back in his seat and put an arm around her honey colored shoulders, "Man I get tired of hearing that, how about you honey?"

Nai rolled her eyes, "Whatever. They're talking about the four of you anyway."

She only briefly caught Hakkai's green eyes in the rearview mirror, "What do you mean by that? You are just as much apart of this as we are."

"You keep telling yourself that."

Sanzo glared over his shoulder at her, "What the hell is up with you?"

And even though she felt the way she did. She would never say anything about it, at least not to them. Whether it was not wanting to burden them or the fear that they wouldn't care anyway, she didn't know.

"Nothing, don't worry about it."

Now as the jeep tumbled across the road and she sat in the back between Gojyo and Goku and silently watched Sanzo and Hakkai in the front she had to remind herself that these were her boys as she liked to put it and she wouldn't trade in any moment with them.

Even if she felt like she was the forgotten.
