He had begun to believe he was indeed crazy. There was no proof that Claudia Brown had ever existed or that Jenny Lewis was her, but then he found the picture. It had been buried deep within the recesses of his wallet he couldn't recall why it had been taken, or when for that matter. It was probably early on in the Anomaly project because they held themselves in such stiff formal poses. It didn't matter to him. At first he wanted to flaunt the picture, just to prove he wasn't crazy, to show Lester that he was right (again). But then he wondered what it would prove, or change. Claudia would still be Jenny and Jenny would still be engaged and all that would do is drive away a new employee and then Lester would be cross with him and he didn't want to sit through the lecture when he could be working like the proper workaholic he had become. So he kept the photo to himself. His silent talisman and when he accidentally called Jenny Claudia, in his mind or out loud, he would hide in his lab and look at that tiny picture and remind himself that he was indeed sane. It was all he had sometimes; his little proof of sanity.
