"Oh how the mighty have fallen." The blond coughed, red liquid coating his lips as he gazed upward at the man standing before him, appearing from the dark like the red eyed demon he was. He smirked, victory radiating from his being. "You know that quote, right, America? I'm pretty sure you've used it in plenty of movies. Of course like so many other fucking things in this world, you've managed to screw up one fucking quote. One fucking verse from the bible, that was all and even you couldn't get it right."
The white haired man sneered down a the fallen nation, using his booted foot to roll him over to his back, watching as his glasses fell off his face. "'How are the mighty fallen in the midst of battle.' Samuel II, verse twenty five. Fitting for today don't you think?" He smirked once again, listening to the deafening silence that dragged on through the empty room. Bending down, he grabbed the man's blond locks and lifted his head, earning a groan of pain. "What's wrong, America? You have nothing to say for once? No corny come back? No stupid heroic laugh? Nothing?"
Releasing the falling man's hair, he allowed his head to drop unceremoniously back to the floor. "If I knew it would be this easy to get you to shut up I would have done it long ago. But humor me. Say something."
The silence continued, the only sound being the fallen nations ragged breathing. Finally, he cleared his throat, dull blue yes gazing at the ex-nation intently. "I'm dying," He finally said, voice straining with effort. "Because of," He coughed again, more blood soiling his lips. "You..."
"Bet you never thought it would end like this, huh? Taken down by a nation long dissolved. Let me ask you, how does it feel?"
"Shitty," He took another ragged breath, body becoming unnaturally still, eyes shutting close. A long moment passed before the red eyed man spoke.
"America...you still there?" The albino asked, gently nudging him with his foot.
The blond opened an eye, taking one more rasping breath. "'Let not the sun go down upon your wrath,'" He quoted. "For when it does...you will fall again." With a final sigh, he stopped.
The ex-nation narrowed his eyes, growling at the dead man at his feet. So he could quote as well, it seemed. "Tch. 'I am the resurrection and the new life.'"
A/N: Where do I get ideas like these from? The quote in the very beginning was what inspired this. As soon as head 'Oh how the mighty have fallen' I saw America laying in a pool of his own blood with Prussia's eyes just looking at him from the dark. Yeah...my mind is just slightly disturbed. I thought it was kind of ironic that one of the most powerful nations on earth got taken over by a nation that doesn't even exist anymore. I have no idea why I have them quoting the bible at each other, it just seemed fitting. Anyways! Comments, questions, or concern can be handled with that little button down below. ~Ciao!
