A Full Moon wo Sagashite Fanfic

By Miyu Camui

A/N: This is my first Full Moon wo Sagashite fanfic. Please review, as I would greatly appreciate it. Writing a story is not as easy as it seems. I believe Mitsuki's father's name is Aoi, but if it isn't, please correct me. Also, first chapter is short. There will be more to come.

Disclaimer: I do not own.

Summary: Fuzuki, Mitsuki's grandmother, has died. A grown up Mitsuki discovers a lot of letters that her grandmother hid from her. They are between her mother and father and there's even one for her father from Fuzuki?!

Chapter One

Kouyama Mitsuki drove the long distance to her grandmother's house, which is where the funeral would be. She had passed away the night before from a stroke.

Everything looked the same. The house was as big and old as it was before. The bushes were still green and the pond was still as blue as it had been ten years ago. The only difference was Tanaka wasn't there anymore, and neither was her grandmother.

When everyone had gathered for the funeral, everyone bowed their heads respectfully. Fuzuki had already had her wake and cremation, they were just putting her in the grave.

Grandmother, Mitsuki thought, I miss you.

After the funeral, Mitsuki stayed behind to clean up the residence. She went in her grandmother's room and opened a drawer to place some papers in. Inside the drawer was a secret drawer, where she discovered a thick stack of letters. They seemed old, and most of them were addressed before Mitsuki was born. As she thumbed through them all, she realized they were from her mother and father. Curiously, she opened the first envelope.

Dearest Hazuki,

Today I woke up and the first thing I thought of was you. I see your face in the sky whenever I look into it. Is that strange?

I hope someday your mother will accept us. Because I really love you. More than anything.

I want you to marry me, Hazuki. We can start a family. I know you're young, but if we have love it's possible, right?

Love,

Aoi

Mitsuki smiled. This was like seeing what feelings her father had for her mother. And from what it sounded like, her grandmother didn't approve.

She opened another letter.

Aoi,

You're silly that would even ask to marry me. You know I would in a heartbeat. I love you more than anything in this world. And the fact I carry your child gives me a new hope.

My mother will most likely never accept us, but that's something we will have to accept ourselves. We don't require her blessing, but it would be nice if she would accept us.

Never forget I love you.

Love,

Hazuki

Mitsuki smiled again. The words of her mother were good to read.

Instead of reading another letter, she took the whole stack and got in her car and drove away, leaving the house in the distance.
