They were too late.
Zordon had called for them, but they took too long. They hadn't come fast enough.
They had arrived just in time to see the monster drop Kimberly's seemingly lifeless body. The sound of her body hitting the ground would never be forgotten.
They had gotten through the battle, but not without more injuries. jason had gotten giant gouges in his back and Trini's hand looked absolutely mangled. Without Kimberly to help they had just been able to scrape by.
Tommy had fallen to his knees next to Kimberly. His hand out wavering between touching her and pulling back. Billy was there moments later.
His mind always logical; he immediately checked for a pulse and attempted to stop the bleeding. "Tommy, Jason, Trini! We need to get her back to Zordon immediately! She is still alive! Help me!"
The other tow came over as fast as they could which was hardly more than a walk. The four of them gathered around their fallen friend and teleported back.
"Rangers," said Zordon the moment they arrived. "Well done... Alpha have you gotten her stabilized yet?"
"I'm trying Zordon. Just a few more moments..." Alpha was pressing numerous buttons, "There! She is stable!"
The Rangers were gathered around a small table like thing were Kimberly lay on a layer of fluffy cotton like stuff.
"Zordon will she be alright?" asked Billy.
Tommy was just in shock. There were streaks from tears running down everyone's faces, but Tommy still had glistening streaks that would reappear every few seconds.
They had been too late and now Kimberly was lying near death, for all they knew she could slip away at any point. Stable could change at any minute. All of the Rangers knew that.
"Is there anything we can do to help?"
"I'm sorry Rangers there is nothing you can do. We can only wait and hope."
