Chapter 1
Wind gently pulled her silver locks as she walked down the rocky path. The clarity of the moon above was an image she missed. The human world was consumed with light, blocking out the beauty of the night. The light from the moon gently caressed over her skin, and brightened her eyes even more as they danced with untold amusement. As the wind whirled around her, the chiming of bells were heard and brought about on the wind. Jazzmyne walked down the woodsy path eagerly, trying to get to her destination.
Like many other demon's, she was sent an invitation to the Dark Tournament. Ordinarily she would have brushed it off, but this year was different. While she didn't look a day over eighteen, she had lived a long time. Dare she admit that she was tired? She needed excitement, and maybe she just needed to feel again. When you live for centuries, life begins to lose its shine. So, after careful consideration, she had decided to watch the Dark Tournament this year, after all, she really didn't have anything better to do. Her decision was made with one crucial motivating factor. To her extreme pleasure an old friend, who was wrapped in a cloth mask, was participating in the tournament along with her young apprentice. She was fighting on team Urameshi.
`~Flash Back ~`
Just over six months prior, she was in the Ningenkai, or human world. Again, she was feeling old. She loved being a leader, and enjoyed life. Unfortunately, it felt as if she was losing perspective. To clear her head, she decided to see an old friend, Genki who was vastly known throughout the demon world. Jazzmyne easily made the climb up the temple steps, happily noting that the temple hadn't changed a single bit since the last time she had visited only a year earlier.
As if sensing Jazzmyne's presence Genki had stepped outside with a small smirk present on her face. Her hair wasn't the vibrant shade of pink that it used to be when they first met each other and she was encased in wrinkles showing that she was no longer the fifteen year old girl Jazzmyne once knew. What made Jazz pause was the growing dullness she could see in her old friend's eyes. Nonetheless she still walked straight, radiating the same air of complete confidence. It always made her smile.
"It's been a long time, my friend," Jazz had said as she walked up the remaining steps.
"Indeed it has been. And may I add that you haven't aged a bit," Genki replied with a grin.
"I should say the same, you haven't changed at all in a year," she had crossed the front yard and stood silently by her side.
Genki chuckled, and absent mindedly looked at the darkening sky, with a look of utter acceptance on her face.
"Genki, something isn't right, what's on your mind?" Jazzmyne had watched her facial features carefully, trying to find any sign of what was wrong.
"My time is nearing… I've been doing some thinking lately. I've decided to pass on my power to the next generation." Genki looked so tired and worn out, it pulled on Jazzmyne's heart to hear Genki say that her time was coming to an end. She knew that a humans life was short, but Genki. They were feeling the same way. A demon's life often depended on the amount of power they held within them. Jazzmyne would live for thousands of years, if life was kind and she remained strong.
"Genki… your time won't be for a very long time… I suppose to me you're still that same little girl, the one that wanted me to teach her everything I knew." Jazz smiled and placed a hand on her shoulder.
Genki smiled ruefully and let out a kind of scary maniacal laugh that would surely scare the pants off any small unsuspecting child.
"Come Jazzmyne, I set a pot of tea on when I sensed your aura heading my way; I take it you're going to stay?"
"Of course, I wouldn't miss tea time with you, would I?"
`~End Flashback~`
Her old friend that seemed to have given up almost a year ago seemed to finally have that spark in her old brown eyes again. Jazzmyne had a feeling it was due to her young, rambunctious apprentice, Yusuke Uremeshi. Tomorrow the team would be fighting… and she was itching with anticipation… their fights should, no would, be interesting. Perhaps that was what she needed? Maybe it was time for her to train the future generations?

Author: Yeah, so, umb… isn't this were all those other authors start having conversations with their characters?
Jazzmyne: yeah… I do believe its that time…
Author: Soooo…. There really isn't much to talk about…
Jazzmyne: … yeah your fucking BORRING! Aren't you supposed to the author or something? Cant you just pull a conversation out of your ass?
Author: Hey! The art of pulling a conversation out of ones ass is extremely difficult and time consuming! It's an art I tell you! Being able to weave a sentence together, with the right amount of pushing and pulling, to create an intricate array of nouns, and other English crap is difficult!
Jazzmyne: riiight… I am truly sorry, oh great and wise ruler of the pen and paper…
Author: I'd watch it I were you… I put you into this world and I can easily 'backspace' you out of it.
Jazzmyne: =_=' that was really lame…
Author:… =_=' I know…
~utter silence~
