Darkness Falls, Light Prevails
Just a little thing that popped into my head. A makeshift verse, following no rules. Beckett's and Castle's thoughts after the bullet, as she lay bleeding in the cemetery and beyond, with a happy ending, of course. A quick read.
Hands grasping, clothing and hair.
A long-awaited touch, emotions bare.
Lips crush, tongues press.
Centers brush as bodies caress.
Heat spreads, dampness pools.
Hearts break as darkness rules.
A face swims, tears brim.
Spirits raw, outcome grim.
Eyes closing, "Love you, Kate."
Time wasted, not even a date.
Love missed, a senseless act.
Life unfair, just a fact.
Green carpet below, pleading blue above.
A voice calls as tears fall, the cry of a dove.
Dark waves, blackness surrounds.
Chances lost, regret bounds.
Affection wasted, tarried long.
Taken by crime, totally wrong.
Enormous cost, deprived bliss.
Asking why, attitude pissed.
Hands crossed, please I'll beg.
Standing ruined, wobbling legs.
Sorrowful cry, will broken.
Surrendering all, proffered token.
Harsh light, sterile white.
Eyes awaken, all their might.
Green and blue, déjà vu.
Bullet defeated, warmth a clue.
Heavenly plea, life reaffirmed.
Gentle touch, smile confirmed.
Hopes soar, life not death.
Hearts roar, no last breath.
Love confessed, writer bold.
Arms embrace, passionate hold.
All is right, love prevails.
Future bright, comparison pales.
Love conquers…always.
