As life goes on
As Gohan flew southward, Trunks tried to keep up. 'What's the deal?' he asked himself. He had seen Gohan
fired up before, but now it was different.
Gohan knew it was going to be different this time. Ever since his father died he had felt the strange presence, he couldn't quite put it into words so he never mentioned it to his small student, Trunks. He thought back to that awful day, when everyone was killed. He himself lost his right arm to the androids, it was sad that now they continued to kill mercilessly. Today they chose to strike down in South Africa, probably slaughtering thousands as he rushed to try and save them.
As soon as the two fighters arrived they knew that they were too late. Complete detraction was all they saw.
"How, how could they?" Trunks asked. He was filled with rage at the sight of this massacre.
"I don't know. But this time they are going to pay." his mentor replied. Trunks remembered that just a couple weeks ago in the last attack Gohan's mother was killed. He grew even more insane. First his father now his mother! Trunks just knew this time it was either them or the cursed androids.
Just as Trunks was thinking the androids were preparing to strike. This time they would get those two rodents. Not even three weeks ago they had killed Gohan's mother so he would be senseless with rage, 17 and 18 would kill him easily and go for the younger less experienced one.
Before Gohan could even gather his power the androids attacked. Quickly going into fighting mode he dodged and counter-attacked. Seventeen was surprised, he thought it would be much easier then this.
"Time to say good-bye!" Eighteen yelled as an ugly smirk spread across her face. She started to gather energy for her next attack. "Out of my way mouse!"
She knocked down Trunks before he could even land a punch.
"Gohan! Watch out!!!!" Trunks screamed "She's going to blast you!"
The young sayian looked up too late. Eighteen's blast was too quick to dodge and too strong to hit away.
"Nooooo!" Trunks cried. He went into a rage and started blasting 18 continuously. At first it was easy for her to dodge these balls of fury, but soon she was covered with small burns and scrapes.
"How dare you!" she screamed. Eighteen was about to kill the poor fool when the dust cleared.
"Gohan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
As the blast ripped though Gohan's body he tried to hang on. He couldn't just leave Trunks alone in this world of hate. He heard Trunks yell but couldn't respond his body just wouldn't let him.
"I c-can't let th-the androids w-win!" Gohan stammered. "I can't ju-just g-give up! Trunks ne-needs me!"
Before he could even try to get up Trunks was there.
"Gohan don't!" he cried, "Just lie down and everything is going to be okay. Just don't move." Trunks knew that the androids were still up there, but he couldn't just leave Gohan lying there dying!
The two glared at each other, grinning at this useless show of emotions. It wouldn't save his friend, so why bother? But, it was entertaining to see this fool think he could save Gohan's life.
"T-trunks. Never give up." Gohan started to say.
"Gohan, don't!" sobbed Trunks. "Your killing yourself! You need to save your strength! Don't talk!"
"Look, Trunks, I don't make it though this fight, this is the way things are meant to be. Now you have a longer life to live, and I know that you can beat these androids. You have your fathers strength. Soon as you do you and your mom will help get this world back together. Now come on. Don't cry, things will be better soon. Don't worry." Gohan smiled. "Your father would be proud of you.
"Gohan! Some how some day I will find a way to get you back! I'll get everyone back! I swear it!" Trunks said as he sobbed. But by then Gohan was dead. "Gohan I don't know what I would have done without you. I will bring this world back together just like you said."
