You've all heard the story , you know the one. The one that starts out with a novel heiress, and her troubles to live through High School? Alright well let me tell you , this story starts out that way , but … boy is it original.

Chapter One.

Adele. What can I tell you about me? Well I can tell you the place I love to be most is in the dusty , old , book store I work at , for no less than eight dollars an hour. That's honestly the only places I don't think about all my troubles my short life has brought me.

You see I'm only 15. And what has my life brought? Well I'll be honest here, after all this is my personal auto biography. Now lets see , well it started in grade seven. I was sitting in the bookstore - Mr. Hanley had appointed me the job of store keeper just last year , after he had discovered my love for books.- when the oddest thing happened. The tickling bell above the door rang , as it creaked open. This was the first time anyone had come in all summer.

So who was it ? Well none other than Alex Harrington. My first reaction was to duck under the counter and pretend I wasn't here , but seeing as he was walking towards me , that was out of the question. So what did I do? Well I stuffed my nose in my book , hoping he'd ignore me and leave. No such luck.

" Adele right?" He asked in a slightly unsure voice.

I lifted my eyes up to his , if I was going to talk to him I was going to do it strait on.

" Yeah." I replied.

" Hey I'm Ale-" " I know who you are."

"Oh.. Well I was hoping you could help me find a book?"

"Name?"

"The Catcher In The Rye."

" Ummm , that one is in … OH! It's in the back , do you want it now or…?"

" Yeah if it's possible."

" Okay, one sec , I'll be right back." I jumped off my stool and slid into the door behind me, leading to the back room , where we kept the extra' the thing that started all the trouble , well it was the moment Alex walked through that door. Because that was the moment I found out , that yes Alex wasn't just some stupid jock.

I grabbed the book off the shelf and slid back through the door , and handed the book to him.

" Do you want to take it now?" I asked. He nodded in answer.

I slid the note pad out of the drawer and the calculator , adding the tax to the price of the book , and hand writing it out on the pad , for records sake.

" Um don't you guys have a computer for that stuff?" He asked, puzzled.

I looked up at him. " Mr. Hanley doesn't like computers. Besides it's kind of easier just to write it down."

"Okay, but how do you keep record for all the books you have?" He hypothesised. I tapped my head and mumbled " right heree."

His eyes bulged slightly. " you… you remember all of the books you have in the store?"

"Didn't I just say that?" I was starting to take back what I had said about him before.

Anyway , he payed for his book , left saying 'thanks' and that was the last time I saw him in the bookstore , well the last time in Summer of grade seven. Now don't get too bored , because remember grade eight , it was just around the corner.

A:N... so what did u think? good begginer? does it sound good? what should I change? COMMENT :)
