Hey everyone, this is my first X men fanfic, so please be kind. I am going to deviate from the comics and movies a little, so don't expect a very factual story. I have only written the prologue so far so I can test the story and see how it is perceived. Soooo, if you like it review for more! The chapters will get progressively longer. Enjoy!

DISCLAIMER: Unfortunately, I do not own Nightcrawler or any other of the loved mutants...I can only wish.

Prologue

The rain poured and poured, never letting up in the slightest. Lightning struck down repeatedly, giving off brief bursts of light. Thunder deafened the whole of Germany. Almost completely drowning out the wails of the newborn left abandoned. Abandoned in the cold storm with nothing other then the thin ragged blanket that was bundled tightly around him. The only gesture of love his mother could give. The babe would have surely died had it not been for his persistent cries and the timely lightening that illuminated his position.

ooooOoooo

Stumbling, Annalise cursed at the sky, how she stubbed her toe on yet another jutting cobblestone she did not know. She would most certainly catch a cough, Annalise scolded herself. Then again, how was she supposed to know that this God awful storm was to pass directly over Bavaria, out of all the places in Germany. Ad how was she supposed to know that the circus was headed out tonight? Really, all she wanted to do was get a little Christmas shopping done. And what did she get for it? Being left behind, having to walk all the way to the next show stop, and all of this occurring during one of the worst storms ever to hit the European continent.

A wave of grief washed through Annalise, she would of thought that at least one of the German travelers would have realized her missing person. All thoughts fled Annalise's mind when she heard a cry. Her head swiveled left, towards the direction of which the cry originated. A flash of light hinted out the swaddled baby. With a gasp of surprise, Annalise ran towards the babe. Scooping the newborn into her arms, Annalise used her cloak to shield the baby from the worst of the rain. Annalise startled at the features of the baby. Looking up at her were a pair of wide, luminous yellow eyes. Instead of skin, velvety blue fur covered him from head to toe. Annalise rationalized it was a boy for if it was a girl it would surely have had pink instead of blue fur. But the most startling aspect to Annalise was the tiny blue tail that flicked back and forth behind the tiny blue head. It was like he was waving.

"I guess we have both been abandoned, junge," Annalise cooed down to the baby. And without another thought, Annalise broke into a sprint, determined to reach the traveling circus before her or her new companion caught a cold.
