"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Oh no!" Rosa cried, bending down to scoop up the frog in front of her. "Are you all right? Listen to me, talking to a frog." She hugged it. "Kain, shush, this is not funny!"
"Actually, I am okay, and I can talk, too," Cecil said, and Rosa nearly dropped him in surprise. He croaked in response to Kain's laughter because he agreed; had his best friend turned into a frog instead, he would have been howling just as madly.
"At least we got this cool knife," Edge offered from his perch atop the chest while turning the knife over to examine it. Rosa shot him a wide-eyed, evil glare. "What? We did!"
"Mind?" Cecil asked Rosa, to focus her attention.
"I would, but, Healing you would cancel out the Float, and I don't know how much deeper this creepy cave goes. We can't touch the floor in here; I don't want to risk anything -- anything else -- happening to you."
"Leave him alone, he's a man. He'll be all right," Edge piped up, testing the blade's weight.
"Frog," Kain corrected through his snickers.
"Actually," Rydia jumped in before the boys could do more damage, "I know a Toad spell. It might change you back, since you're already... y'know."
Despite her nature, Rosa was not one to cross when she was angry, worried about Cecil, or both. Rydia had learned that the hard way when she was younger and she decided not to test those waters again if she could help it.
"It's worth a shot," Cecil consented. "Can't make me any worse."
"Cecil, are you sure? Do you want--"
"I'll be fine," he assured her, waving a flipper. "Just put me down."
Reluctantly, Rosa put him down -- he hovered a few inches above the cave floor, as they all did -- and backed away, her hands clasped tightly before her in silent prayer for his safety.
"Here goes," Rydia announced. Kain came a bit closer to inspect, and Edge pivoted on his seat, only mildly interested.
"TOAD!"
"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Oh no! Are you all right? Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry! I have no idea how that happened! Maybe my finger slipped? Oh my gosh..."
"Cecil, stop it! How do you feel?"
"No, go ahead. It is kinda funny."
As the dust settled, Cecil was the first to notice that he was back to normal, and still hovering; Rydia's spell had worked. What he also noticed was that there were only three other heads around, and so when his eyes fell, the rest of him did, too.
Rydia was shocked to see that her spell worked all too well. While it had succeeded in morphing Cecil back to the way he should be, it also, somehow, morphed Kain to the way he shouldn't have been.
Rosa, naturally, was only concerned with Cecil's well-being, and scolded him only so he would let her know he was all right. Satisfied when he said that he was, she leaned against him in a hug, hitting him lightly when he felt the need to snicker.
Kain himself was quite amused, and felt he got what he deserved. At least this time around, the karma for kicking his friend while down didn't sting as badly.
"At least we got this cool knife," Edge repeated, twirling the knife now, unfazed by any of the goings on.
"Piggy," Rydia casted annoyedly, and the knife clattered to the ground.
