Author's Notes: I'm in love with Frozen. I haven't been able to stop watching Frozen or reading fanfiction about it, so finally here is my first Frozen story. I hope you enjoy.
Disobedience
Every day that door stayed closed, but she always knocked in an attempt to draw her sister out of hiding. Her parents would chastise her when she brought it up, telling her not to bother the older girl. She didn't understand why it was an issue. They were sisters, best friends, so what could Elsa be doing al day that preventing their playing together for a couple of hours? Why didn't she want to come out and play? Nobody wants to be alone.
She currently stood in front of that very door, but it wasn't her normal appearance at the door. The younger princess was cast in blues as the night had drawn in more hours ago than the six year old could be certain of. She took a furtive look up and down the hall, making sure no servants, or worse her parents were around. Wringing her hands together one last time, she knocked twice on the sturdy wood, hoping that despite the softness it was still heard.
"Elsa?" her voice came out as a plea, stronger yet sadder than her daily calls to her sister. When there wasn't an immediate response, even of a slight shuffling of feel, the girl whimpered. She leaned against the doorframe, trying not to weep. "I...I had a bad dream, Elsa..." she whispered as though explaining her presence would change the outcome. Still no response. The young girl wrapped her arms around her legs curling in on herself as she quietly began to cry.
Through her crying, she was unable to hear the slight moan of a door being open. "Anna..." a small voice reached the frightened girl's ears. She looked up to see her older sister clinging to the edge of her door in a light blue nightgown. Her mouth opened in shock at the door finally opening to her knocks.
Slowly, warily Elsa came out and wrapped her arms around her sister in a supportive hug. Anna clung desperately to the friend she hadn't seen in a long time, trying not to cry too loudly. This closeness, this moment no matter the circumstances would come to an abrupt halt if they were found by anyone.
"Do you want to tell me about it?" Elsa asked after a few moments, unwilling to remove her arms just yet. The fear of hurting Anna was pushed back in favor of protecting and comforting the child still buried against her.
"I...I was playing in the castle, exploring every room but when I got hungry I couldn't find anyone. Not even mama or papa. I was alone! Then I woke up," Anna admitted clinging to her sister's arms harder after recalling the dream.
Elsa smiled ruefully at her sister. "You'll never be alone Anna," she said before placing a kiss atop the younger girl's head. They didn't say much after that, simply decided to enjoy the other's presence. Before she knew it though, Anna had fallen asleep in her sister's embrace. The only indicator of that was the even breathing against Elsa's body and she smiled a bit, still stroking the beautiful red locks of her baby sister. When her eyes landed on the unmistakable blonde streak in her hair she winced briefly. "I'm sorry, Anna," she whispered, not only due of the death that almost became of her, but the fact she had to leave again. If their parents saw them together it would not bode well for the blonde so she regretfully stood up and went back into her room. "I love you," she whispered before closing the door.
