Initially, this should be romance and friendship genre, however as you will find out if you read on. It has a very heavy comedic tone because Marvel (somewhat the main voice of the story) is hilarious and self-deprecating. Despite that, I hope this doesn't take away from the serious aspect of disabilities and forms of abuse some characters have gone through prior to arriving at the home.

Marvel

This is not the name written on the tall golden gate, but it should be. It was a suitable name and a vivid description. It described me perfectly, and since I am the first student/tenant/unfortunate soul that got stuck here, it's only fair that I get to give the place a pseudo-name. After all, my parents did establish the home for me after the accident, so that they can hide me away or as they put it 'make me recover as comfortable as possible'. I am blind for god sake. I doubt there was much recovery for me to do.

I was thankful that my parents had the decency to establish a comfortable hideaway/infirmary for me, instead of placing me in some low class, shabby home where I would possibly be mistreated. Maybe I'm being a bit overdramatic.

Despite, the name on the gate, I really owned the home. Which was great since all the workers had to treat me well since their paycheck depended on it.

Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to get me out of my daily academic schedule. You see, my parents, being the socialites and basic preppy, rich folks they are, didn't think that my blindness prevented me from learning French, Classical Music Theory, Piano and other stupid things that they think will make me 'well-rounded'. Again, I am blind for god sake. They seem to forget that a lot or at least try to.

The accident was my fault. Although my parent would never allow me to admit it. It was clear. I was stupid enough to get behind the staring wheel buzzed and totally mess my life. And that wasn't even the worst part.

I would say that my sight was a worthy cost to pay for what I did.
