Max stood valiantly in front of his enemy. The enemy in question unfortunately was his younger brother Felix. Mustacho's desperate attempt at longevity consumed his brother into a progressively middle aged version of Felix. Using his marker gifted by the Old Woman, he lures Mustacho-Felix into getting struck by lightning, his only possible weakness. As the creature weakens, a sense of dread fills Max.
Why isn't he returning back to normal?
A glow behind him grabs his attention.
"Max. I'm afraid Felix is losing this battle with Mustacho. His influence is too great. We can't let him sustain any more energy in this world", the Old Woman says ominously.
" But...this isn't how it's supposed to happen! I've went through too much to give up. I can't give up on him. I can't-"
"Maaaaaxxxx!"
Mustacho- Felix screams into the stormy night air. With a quick motion, Max is grabbed by one of his massive hands. "Oh Max. Why didn't you save me? I've been waiting so long for you, oh please save me Max!" Mustacho imitates his brother's pleas mockingly.
"I-rrrrrggghhhhh-I-" Each squeeze of Mustacho-Felix's grip threaten Max's life. Any second he could perish...by his own brother. Almost blackening out from the intense pain, a voice perks his ears.
" Max. It's now or never!"
With the remaining strength in his left arm, he forms a straight line swinging his arm forward with all his might, unleashing a giant stream of lavender directly at Mustacho-Felix, piercing a hole through his head.
"Uh?! How...could...you?" the only question Mustacho stammers out, shocked in disbelief.
" He... told me to. Now you'll never have the chance to hurt anyone...ever..again". Mustacho staggers into the bell tower so hard, the bell detaches. Hitting the ground they're standing on, the floor gives way as the entire castle collapses. While falling, the Old woman uses the last of her power to open a portal.
To where?
The destination is no concern to Max.
The portal opens to the warm, familiar scene of the brother's room. Toys everywhere, crayons and coloring books scattered as far as the eye can see, the disorderly nature of children.
Upon closer look, Max notices there's a slight change his spaced that was shared with his brother. The amount of clutter in the room is halved. One treasure chest full of toys, the closet size is smaller , and there's only one bed. A familiar book is laying on the bed. The page containing the phrase that sent Felix to that world is still there. In a blind fury, Max pounces on the bed ripping up the page in it's entirety, panting and breathing heavy. Suddenly as if all the strength from him was taken, he slams into the pillow and sobs heavily at the loss of the brother he took for granted.
