Taken inspiration from the TV show Reign, Reign of Winter chronicles the young Queen in the North rise to power as she faces dangerous adversaries that would rather see her dead than the rule. Her marriage to the future King of the Mountain and Vale is supposed to protect her and her throne, but it may lead to her downfall.

Set in an AU before Aegon's Conquest. The Starks rule in the Kingdom of the North. The Arryns rule the Kingdom of the Mountain and Vale. The Hoares rule the Kingdom of the Isles and the Rivers. The Lannisters rule the Kingdom of the Rock. The Gardeners rule the Kingdom of the Reach. The Durrandons rule Kingdom of the Stormlands. The Martells rule the Principality of Dorne. Although not considered one of the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, the Targaryens rule their sovereign island "kingdom" as lords.

Here's a description of some of the characters that are going to be a part of the story. You can apply for the open one; ask first, so you don't waste your time making a character that's already taken. These aren't the only one you can submit; you can make other characters as well, especially from other kingdoms. The form is on my profile.

Queen Serena Stark (16)

When her father died, she was crowned at only a week old after being named his heir. After multiple assassination attempts and an attempt at a coup, she was sent away to the Vale for her protection. She was again sent a motherhouse for her education but has returned to the Vale to wed the future King of Mountain and Vale. Somewhat of a melancholy girl, she feels like she has no control over her life and feel alien to both the North and the Vale. She is under a lot of pressure to be the perfect queen.

Corrin Snow (18)

Born before his sister and a bastard of Winterfell. He was raised with his sister. He was also fostered at the Vale alongside his sister. After his sister was sent the motherhouse, he went back to Winterfell. He also returned to the Vale to protect his sister when she returns to wed Roland. Corrin is more of a stoic, brooding personality. He's not the best at talking and tends to take rejection and failure badly, meaning he finds it hard to let go. Corrin sees himself primarily as others see him - the Bastard of Winterfell. Corrin follows the strict and rigid moral code of the Starks. Though Corrin has no qualms with swallowing his pride or doing something seen to be dishonourable as long as it's the right thing to do.

Prince Regent Willam Stark (39)

The younger brother of the deceased King Malcolm Stark. He helped raise his niece and nephew and brokered the marriage alliance between the North and Vale. Willam is known to be a very calculated man and described as cold. He would do anything to ensure that his family 's reign thrives.

King Jasper Arryn (45)

King Jasper Arryn is very serious and cautious. He has a strict moral code, and he follows the law to the letter. Jasper is distrustful to outsiders and fiercely protective of the people in his kingdom.

Queen Clarysse Arryn (40)

Born Clarysse Gardener. Sister to current the King of the Reach. Clarysse is a strong, smart, and well-educated woman. She loves her sons beyond her own life. She disapproves of the betrothal and sees it as the beginning of the downfall for her family.

Prince Roland Arryn (16)

Roland is the eldest son of Jasper and Clarysse Arryn and the future King of Mountain and Vale. Though dashing and handsome, Roland is a bit of a hot-head and a little temperamental. When clear-headed, Roland always tries to do the right thing for himself, the people around him, and his kingdom. Since he was six, he was betrothed to Queen Stark.

Prince Oswin Arryn (14)

The youngest Arryn. He isn't expected to take the throne. Oswin is quite the spoilt rich kid and has a fair bit of entitlement issues, thinking he should have whatever he wants because of his name. He is also a fairly arrogant boy seeing himself and the vale as being above the "peasants" other kingdoms and views them as either weak or savages, because of this he tends to underestimate his enemies and the other kings and lords. Despite his arrogance he is a very low self conscious person and tries to act more masculine and knightly than he really is.

Lord Adrian Hunter (18)

Adrian served as Japser's squire and ward for over 10 years before joining the knights of the Vale. He is Roland's closest friend and most trusted confidant. He is known to be courageous, clever, determined, and proud. He possesses a sharp, cynical, and sarcastic sense of humor. Adrian is honest and straightforward with what he wants and doesn't like to hide behind clever political games. He's very flirtatious and sometimes makes comments he doesn't realize is offensive. Adrian is stubborn and fearless who doesn't shy away from a fight.

King Greydon Hoare (40)

Greydon is extremely greedy and power-hungry; his constant obsession with expanding his power creates problems for the rest of Westeros. His need for more power has caused many wars, even the one that claimed the life of King Malcolm Stark. He does what he wants regardless of the consequences, and is not stopped by morals, or laws.

Princess Gysella Hoare (18)

A skilled seductress, Gysella knows how to use her beauty, her body, and innate cunning to intrigue and manipulate men. It has been rumored that she's a witch that uses magic to enchant men though it never has been proven. She is able to adapt to her situations and can almost always turn them into her favor.

Princess Celina Hoare (17)

Celina is a cruel and sadistic woman, taking pleasure in torturing and mistreating others she sees below her. She holds little to no value on human life that isn't her own or her family, even then she views some of her family as expendable. She is also a deeply jealous girl, especially of other young beautiful women, who she see as a personal attack against her " how dare they try to be more beautiful than her" sort of thinking.

Lord Daemon Targaryen (19)

As head of House Targaryen, Daemon is a very serious stoic and serious man almost regal in the way he acts when dealing with other nobles. While he is very level headed, he does have a temper when pushed too far. He is not held back by honor and willing to do extreme things to protect by his loved ones or achieve his goals. In his private life, Daemon is a quiet and thoughtful man.

King Berrick Durrandon (37)

Berrick is a jovial man. He is a proud family man. He isn't very often told no, and so it is harder for him to accept it when he is. Hidden under his jolly exterior is a deep well of sadness. He is big and loud and good-humored to escape from the dark feelings inside. That mask wears on him so he sometimes has outbursts of temper. He is very dangerous when angry. To himself mostly, but to others as well.

King Reynard Lannister (54)

Reynard Lannister is a hard man. He will everything it takes to protect his legacy, in order to solidify his family and house in their place. His greatest fear is his family and house being wiped from the history books. He is a master strategist and unnaturally clever and intelligent. Untrusting, and untrustworthy. He'll do and say anything to get what he needs.
