Hey! This is the companion to "Ye Tebya Lyublyu". It's Ivan's thoughts on Alfred.

Disclaimer: Don't own. If I did, Russia wouldn't be so creepy.

It was no secret that the world wanted Alfred, and to be honest, Ivan couldn't blame them. Alfred was very handsome, with a boyish charm that shone out through brilliant blue eyes.
Not only that though, Alfred was also the United States of America, the only real super power in the world at that moment, still fertile and filled with vast resources, such as the Alaska pipeline. A beautiful, varied land, with every type of climate. From Alaska with the frigid Arctic temperatures to the north, to Hawaii with it's beaches and crystal waters. From the swamps to the desserts, to the prairies and the mountains. Rivers and lakes, bordered by the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, a truly diverse land of great beauty.
Ivan did not like the stares of the other nations, not only because Alfred was his, as they very well knew, but because they had no idea about the man behind the sunshine grin.
They knew nothing of the sappy romantic, who often surprised Ivan (himself a hopeless romantic) with roses, or candle-lit dinners. They knew nothing of the dedicated Nation who often went days without sleep in order to finish paper work to keep his country running more-or-less smoothly. They knew nothing of the tears, the nightmares, of the many regrets harbored by a Nation who had grown up too fast. They knew nothing of his brushes with death at the hands of his own people, nor of the weight he took on, without their knowledge. They didn't realize just how thin he spread himself, trying to help them, while trying to keep his country together.
Often Ivan wondered if the other nations had eyes at all.
Surely they couldn't miss the serious side of the child they knew? Surely they saw the love and affection he had for each of them, not as strong as his love for Ivan, but still present. Surely they understood that all Alfred wanted was peace.
As Ivan held his sleeping lover close to him, he made a silent wish on the shooting star out side.
Keep him safe,sane, and loved.
