"I now know who you really are, Cassandra. I can't believe I couldn't see it!" I yelled into the air. Cassandra had just shown her true self.

"What do you mean, Exy?" she asked in her sickly sweet tone. She was trying to cover up what she had just been caught doing.

"Shut up! You can't hide that you were just with my mate!" I screamed in her face, tears stinging the corners of my eyes. If you didn't look closely, Cassandra's eyes looked innocent and sweet, but if you looked into their depths you could see the malicious gleam hiding behind the mask.

I looked away, focusing my eyes on the ground. A song bubbled into my mind. I felt the urge to sing what I felt and knew.

Perfect by nature
Icons of self indulgence
Just what we all need
More lies about a world that

Never was and never will be
Have you no shame? Don't you see me?
You know you've got everybody fooled

I sang as I gradually got louder. Her eyes showed surprise, probably that I was singing, even more about her. She quickly recovered though, seeming as cool as ever.

Look here she comes now
Bow down and stare in wonder
Oh how we love you
No flaws when you're pretending
But now I know she

Never was and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled

"Exy, how could I have betrayed you? You're one of my best friends! I would never do something like that!" she explained, as if talking to a child. But I wasn't going to be fooled like everyone else.

Without the mask, where will you hide?
Can't find yourself lost in your lie

I know the truth now
I know who you are
And I don't love you anymore

It Never was and never will be
You don't know how you've betrayed me
And somehow you've got everybody fooled

She stepped towards me, outstretching her arms to hug me. She just didn't get it! I knew who and what she really was, and I wasn't going to love her anymore. She wasn't going to rule my life!

It never was and never will be
You're not real and you can't save me
Somehow now you're everybody's fool

I ran and ran from her, until she was no longer haunting her mind.

By the next day, the whole junkyard knew of Cassandra's treachery, and had shunned her. Eventually, Cassandra was driven mad by the loneliness and had run off to Macavity.

She was never seen again.

Soon after she'd been found out, Exotica's mate, Alonzo, had tried to apologize, but had been rejected, so he ran after Cassandra, receiving the same fate. Rumors say, that on the coldest and darkest of nights, you can see Cassandra's eyes gleaming in shadow.
